Next year is the comp pick year.

This year is the aggressive pursuit of free agents year.

This. This is also why we should keep Vernon and let his contract expire at the end of the season.

Much like it was a win culturally not to hire Brad Childress due to his interpersonal shortcomings and gossip nature, it will be an even more enormous win if Andrew Berry stays the heck away from hiring Chris Polian to be one of his personnel chiefs after the draft.

The son of Bill, is known in scouting circles of being a immature, ego-maniac who doesn't work well collaboratively and is always angling, side-talking, and back-channeling for political reasons. He sees himself as a GM, will do whatever it takes to get back in the captain's chair, and is the type that power goes to his head once given it.

There's a worry Andrew might hire him as a service to his mentor Bill as Andrew worked under Grigson and Chris Polian in Indy.

Chris has recently been let go by his good friend from high school, longtime coworker, and Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell. It's been rumored that Caldwell gave his friend all the time he possibly could but grew weary of putting out fires and the political games the younger Polian was playing constantly. Polian creates toxic environments wherever he goes.

Here's to hoping Andrew stays away from hiring him. Hopefully, he can pull from other scouting exec trees that he's worked with for staffing. Hopefully, he can resist his mentor's wishes out of a sense of loyalt to give his son another shot. It would be great if he could pull guys from under Howie Roseman or Tom Telesco.

Yeah, **** anyone with the last name Polian. And agreed on the other two, especially Roseman. I have been extremely impressed with how the Eagles have run things on pretty much every front--drafting, trades, FA, team culture. Let's hope it happens.

Eh, Grigson may know his stuff but not be cut out for the top role, not unlike how some guys are great coordinations but bad HC’s.

He’s easy to clown, but we’ll see.

REEAALL easy to clown.

His drafts in Indy (5 of them) were awful, and he traded a 1st rounder for Trent Richardson.

I'm not sure what he is good at, but it's definitely not being a GM.
