Doubtful they get a 2nd.     I thought he would have ended up in NE since they have an attractive bunch of 3rd/4th rnd picks, but since he wasn't included in a Gronk deal I think that rules out NE?

I don't want GB to trade their 2nd for him...but if they use their 2nd on a player like Kmet instead I'll be upset.

Good luck getting a tight end as good as Howard in the second round

I think the lack of contract beyond 2020 is part of the trade valuation.
If you trade a 2nd, you're going to want to extend his deal and that's a significant part of his trade value for the acquiring team

Here's a link to TE contracts and you're looking at $ 7-10M /yr on an extension. That's not a major issue for GB in terms of positional spending because GB is toward the bottom of the league in TE cash for 2020/21. Getting OJ extended in time to consummate a trade would be pretty hard, but maybe the acquiring team agrees on general $ parameters and pull the trigger

No doubt. I'm with you all the way here

This is weird. Usually you're the one telling me I shouldn't want a guy. For Howard, I'd top out at a 4th round pick. Personally, I'd rather trade for Desmond King if I had to choose between them.

If I'm playing for the next two with Aaron, which I am, that's why I do it. Then I'm guessing there's a 5th year after that and you deal with that when it comes unless he demands a deal before he's coming over I suppose.

I think the 5th year option is still valued in the $7-$9 range so definitely not inexpensive but also not cost prohibitive if paired with a cheap Sternberger.   Having two good athletic, dual-purpose TE's could do as much to open up the offense as a vertical threat like Aiyuk or Reagor.   Even better if paired with someone like those two (or MVS) to open up those intermediate routes and seams
