BDL Opt-Out Vote #3

Ragnarok

Pick One

  1. 1. Which one do you want?

    • For every opt out. An owner gets 1k cap relief (ted)
      2
    • Pheltz proposal - Every owner has the choice to either eat the salary of the player opting out or to toll the players contract for one year. If you choose to toll, you will receive a cap hit of 350 or 150 based on what the player's RL hit is.
      8
    • Owners can select from 2 Options: Option A) Opt Out: Opted out player will hold a cap hit value of $350, not count against the rostet limit, be transactionally locked, and contract will toll. Option B) Opt-In: Owner chooses to take on full cap hit, counts against roster limit, is not transactionally locked, and contract does not toll.
      2
    • Opted out players salary is 50% of their current bdl salary down to 450 total (bdl FA min). Owners have option to pay full salary and have year count or take 50% and not have year count

To be completely honest all I was originally doing is cleaning up the wording of Pheltz' idea, leaving off the $150 was unintentional.

OK. So the extra wording on yours involving locking, is as Pheltz stated earlier, unnecessary since any change in salary results in that automatically. So those that choose to take a lowered salary will be locked and those that don't won't.  The player will be on am NFL reserve list regardless of the outcome of the vote so will never count against the Roster limit. That is the only major hiccup I see in your option. So if that is not a sticking point you and Pheltz are basically saying the same thing as you have said above. If both options are saying the same thing then we currently have 8 votes for that idea.

Tracking all of this should be no harder than tracking Free Agents from a Spreadsheet process IMO just a few little changes and it would be on your Homepage. @TedLavie would be better able to say if that is the case.

Nothing wins.  Need nine votes to get a majority.  If there is no majority there is no rule change and that IS in the bylaws and not something I'm making up.  I tried splitting it up and we would have already been through the salary stage.  Now you're gonna need the remaining three owners to vote for two or nothing happens with opt outed players salary wise and there can not be a revote til next meeting post season
