Word is Butler is looking at least $13-14 Million a year. Not sure how hot the Titans are on him. So glad to see a legitimate bump on this thread this time around. I don't know Butler well enough to say if he's worth that. I know he had a "down" year in 2017 but if he's worth it go get him. Logan has 2 years left on his deal so who knows if he's around after that, and you can never have enough corners. Hope Derrick is ready to have competition again... Derrick is limited in some areas and needs to improve. I personally think they would draft a player to fill that role, but they might pay for the reliability of a vet. If Lewis doesn't price himself out of the job then I think he would be the choice.

Agree he can't do it all, but his mindset is a bit fragile/diva-ish to me if things don't go his way. Drafting a mid-round complementary guy is one thing, ponying up at $6M or so would put him in a bad spot I think (in his own head, at least). The Guy might be onto something.
SerenityNow
I’ve been on board with drafting a mid round back to compliment Derrick, but the thing I do like about possibly bringing in a vet is that we know what we’re getting right away. There’s a consistency and a steadiness there that we might not get out of a rookie right away. For as hyped up as we all get about these rookies, sometimes it takes them longer than we’d like to adjust to the NFL game. Throwing a rookie in there from the jump to be our 3rd down specialist/pass catching back could be a tall order. Lewis could be a really valuable piece to the offense.

Only a few rookies truly step in and make an impact right away. I'm not sure the importance of the 2nd back in Lafleur's system, but I think it's worth paying that extra money to make sure we don't get Marcus rocked on some of these rollouts and bootlegs.

He might not be Bouye, but he looked solid and I'm pretty sure his best football is still to follow. Also, yes to bringing in Dion. If I had it my way, I'd really look to bring someone for Henry to complement, and not the other way around, if that makes sense. But Lewis would be a nice addition, and they could still Draft someone in the mid to later rounds. If all fails in FA, I think Guice and Jones should be viable options for us in the 1st. We’re going to have to be a lot more active in FA to be in a place where we can justify spending a first on a running back.

I think that depends on how you feel about Henry. For one thing, I think we all can agree he's not good enough in multiple aspects of the game to afford to not add at least depth behind him. Then there's the question if he can be the main guy, which I'm still personally not sold on. So at the very least we need someone to complement him, or someone who needs to be the featured back and let him have his old role he had when Murray was around, be the change-of-pace back, get some RZ opportunities, finish out games when we need to run out the clock, etc. There's a point to be made about Jones or Guice being BPA when we pick. That, along with the fact that we do have money to spend and not that many pressing needs (as T, WR or CB have been in recent years), might be enough to pull the trigger on one of them. Chocolateman78
I'll put it this way, there's not a single pass rusher or linebacker available in FA, that would make me feel comfortable enough about this defense to forego one of those positions in the draft. And Henry is ready to be a feature back. The only thing he doesn' do particularly well is pass protection on 3rd down. And I don't think anybody is factoring that in when they rank their top options to compliment Henry.
TitanSS
Drafting a 1st round RB not named Saquon Barkley would just be plain stupid. There's no defending it. We don't need to spend a first round pick because Henry struggles in pass-pro....
