Outside of the Emery/Trestman days it is a foreign thought.

Lol. The awkwardness sums up 2020 pretty well.  On a more serious note,  Pagano needs to get it together. There's too much talent on the defense for them to play like they did. today.  BTW, congrats on mod.

Nice job by Eddie Jackson to deflect the ball straight up into the air. He's a real piece of work. Between that and his horrid tackling, he's really making this a weekly thing.

Yeah...he flashed some early in the season, but he's clearly regressed to what we saw out of him last year. Probably a really horrible extension by Pace.

Ehhh, the Vikings are still a pretty good team (can't believe I'd be saying that after their horrid start to the season), and really, outside of lapses here and there, the defense did okay. Not as well as they should have, but okay. They couldn't do much against the run, but it's going to be like that until Goldman comes back. Smith had an absolutely spectacular game.

Deflects balls up in the air on hail mary's? Jesus what a stretch

Yeah, I'm sure he intentionally meant for the ball to be tipped in the air. He tried swatting it down.....the ball just hit his hand wrong as it was going forward.

Still, McMannis fell and Jackson had the wherewithal to pick up is man then come over the back of receiver without PI who was in position to make a easy catch.

But making a game saving deflection is a stretch?! What a dumb take lol.

You both have decent points. It was a very good play, but the season as a whole hasn't been very good for Jackson. Not QUITE as frustrating as last year, but it's in the ballpark...

That's why he was the made the highest paid safety in the league! To deflect a pass high up in the air at the end of regulation. Not to tackle well or take the ball away, but that play right there!

Yeah...like I said, probably a really bad move by Pace. The sad thing is that if the Bears end up making the playoffs, Pace and Nagy will be around next year. And they deserve to go.

Throughout the season he hasnt lived up to his contract but an INT or deflection there makes no difference. It still results in the turnover on downs or end of game either way so he did his job there.

My issue, like yours, is the lack of impact plays throughout the season though. His tackling isnt supposed to be his strength, but he is suppose to generate takeaways and basically shut down an area of the field.

Congratulations on the win Bears fans.  I was afraid our defense wouldn't be up to the task to day and it wasn't.  Trubisky causes a lot more problems for us than Foles does.  You are just a much more complete team at this point.  Here's hoping you can sneak into the playoffs and then you never know, maybe some magic can happen.  I'll be cheering for you guys!

Jackson's tackling shouldn't be terrible though, right? Can we all agree on that? He is the highest paid safety in the league, after all. That SHOULD imply he's the best, and not a marginal Pro Bowler...if he gets lucky.

Let's all remember when Pace extended Jackson he just had a pro bowl season and the year before that he was an all pro. Let's get over ourselves any GM would have extended Jackson and he's having a down year on takeaways. He's still considered a top 5 safety in the league
