I realize this is a non-football thread but I went to the Chargers forum to ask a question and literally NO ONE has posted anything in the past month, if not longer..!???

Just wondering how they feel with the Rams in the playoffs and potential SB? Same city, same stadium but different conference

(seriously, no recent posts in how long!?) LoL

How could I forget!?  Ah yes, the city change will definitely mix things up and lose (or perhaps gain) fans

Im guessing Jets fans could also answer this question as they saw the Giants win 2. But I am struggling to think of many Jets fans aside from that one body builder dude who I have never seen post outside of the fitness thread.

I went to the Rams/Cardinals Wild Card game and I actually sat next to a guy in a Herbert jersey and Chargers hat who told me, "I'm here to support my landlord."

To be clear, I've been clear, I was an LA Rams fan who switched to being a Chargers fan then switched back to being a Rams fan once the team moved home.

Of the Chargers fans I talk to locally, they're divided about in half.  Some just are indifferent to the Rams in the playoffs and will pull for/against them based on the opponent (a fair amount of them are pulling for us this weekend because we're facing a NorCal team and the NorCal/SoCal rivalry can tend to precede almost anything here in Southern California).  While there are others that are just anti- anything Rams, but a lot of folks don't really take them terribly seriously the same way, and I can draw a comparison because I observe this too from some among our fanbase being a Clippers fan, the small sect of Clippers fans who go out of their way to talk crap to Lakers fans.  Usually it's the other way around, with them feeling the need to play big brother teabagging the little brother anytime lil bro stumbles, or conversely has anything good happen for them.  But for the most part most of little brother has the good sense not to punch upward.

I know. I get it and I respect it. But you are one of like 4-5 mods I can tease and get away with it, so you will never live down being a silly bandwagon Rams fan.

JK, love you.

You basically just described how Cowboys fans treat the Texans or how I imagine the Giants treat the Jets. "You are irrelevant to us, but we are not irrelevant to you".

But it is interesting reading that the Chargers and Rams are united against the 9ers. It get has to get messy with the Raiders fans in that area who hate both teams as well.

Raiders fans, you almost have to feel for them.  Their "best case scenario" in who they can root for of the teams left is the team that KO'd them out of the playoffs, the Bengals.  I'd almost think you'd see most of them rooting for the refs in the Super Bowl, but that may be the longest rivalry of all-time: The Raiders and the Officials.

But the in-California rivalry thing is a big effing jumble and kind of hilarious to watch.  One of my friends who's a ST-holder for the Rams sent me a photo of guy sitting in his section in Week 18... wearing a Niners jersey and a Dodgers hat (and my buddy is a Dodgers fan and had captioned it "SMH").

Most native San Diegans hate anything LA and SF area.  The LA/Bay Area rivalries are strong across most sports.  But in California it's also exceedingly popular for kids from up north to go down south for college and vice versa because it's far enough away from the parents to feel like they've got some freedom, but close enough that the parents don't get too uncomfortable about the distance (and let's be real, with some of these kids, the parents are close enough that if they need them to bail them out, they're roughly 1 day's drive away).  So you end up with a lot of NorCal transplants that end up staying in the SoCal area after college and keeping their NorCal sports allegiances.

As for your collection of Cowboys fans out here, @Matts4313, they're largely bandwagoners or the offspring of bandwagoners from the 90's versus people actually from Texas or anywhere actually near Dallas, for that matter.

You cant go 26 years w/o a meaningful playoff run a call anyone a bandwagoner. That is a hard *NO* from me. If they, or their parents, are still supporting us in 2022, then they are through and through fans.

And lets be real, you can go to any county in Cali and at worst the Cowboys are the 3rd most popular team. You got people who are loyal to their location. Then you got those who just want to watch the world burn. Those people were born in San Fran, LA, SD, etc and love us more than you.
