Fun little COVID story that just happened.

I joined a new co-ed softball team with my Fiancee, and they started a group chat for the new season. Yesterday someone jokingly said "City is mandating being vaccinated in order to play in this league" and immediately like 3-4 people on the GC were like "Nope I'm out" and got pretty heated over it until someone said it was a joke and that's not actually the case.

A few texts later, someone says "team bonding at <the local casino>!" and those same people literally said "No, I can't go out tonight, I got the 'rona". Literally. The. Same. People.

Surprised that stopped them from going out, honestly.

Yes. It actually does hurt.

We could instead be using all of this energy to progress humanity. Instead, we are wasting resources on...this.

If all we needed to do was "figure out" why people were against the vaccine and correct it, that would be a worthwhile investment

But we know why 75% of people who are against it are against it and the problems run way too deep for a vaccine campaign to correct

Maybe we should get more TikTok influencers to make videos at the White House. I'm sure that will change their mind...........................

Fact of the matter is, there's a ton of people who are hesitant and flat out refusing the vaccines and it's not just people on one political side or "Patriots".

I'm not saying I have answers but what they're trying now isn't going to do a damn thing. They obviously skipped Marketing 101.

When you’re the person who let the animals out of the zoo, people are gonna blame you when the lion eats a baby.  Even if you told it to play nice.

Comparing people not getting vaccinated to lions eating a baby.  Nice

I don't think much energy is being wasted on trying to figure out why people don't want to be vaccinated. They are using a lot of energy on convincing people to get the vaccine

I mean, yea. Its super apt. Children are dying and getting sick in schools because people are not vaccinated and are barring masks from schools. Lions... meet babies.

The hospitalization rate among fully vaccinated people with COVID-19 ranged from effectively zero (0.00%) in California, Delaware, D.C., Indiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Vermont, and Virginia to 0.06% in Arkansas. (Note: Hospitalization may or may not have been due to COVID-19.)

Super good news for my state.

He was against COVID 19 and the medical community (mainly, the CDC) in the first place. He 100% sewed doubt in the entirety of the process, so when that same "enemy" (the medical community) start recommending vaccines, the people who followed him are, of course, going to resist that.

Couple that with him literally never advocating for the vaccine or vaccination or social distancing or masks, and you have the animal that is now turning against all Republicans and can't be controlled. We are absolutely ****ed as a country because of how much damage his administration (and he personally) did in 2020 with how they portrayed COVID publicly while behind closed doors they all took it seriously and then all got vaccinated the first chance they got.

Yeah either people weren’t paying attention for the last 20 months or we’re back to revisionist history.

Nah, not a fair comparison at all. The lion will only kill one kid before animal control shoots it. Antivax folks are gonna make sure thousands of kids die, with no repercussions at all.
