Not shocked to watch all these guys get snatched up while we are in the background. We are just hard pressed this year again. It sucks, but we knew it was gonna be this way.

Our offense is going to be the back bone of this team again, so might as well pad that Oline come April. The D is going to be very hit or miss with so many random holes to plug.

We are not a FA destination with a meh QB, high tax state and not a good chance at contender status.

Certainly not suprising no tier 1/2 players have chosen Vikings this far, even though we've supposedly had offers on plenty of players. Players also may not have faith in Cousins and our actual best player (Hunter) wants out/raise ... after Diggs publically wanted out the last year. These things actually matter, they know management has done poorly..

Not looking like we're going to get any good defensive player for reasonable money this year.

Still plenty of good players out there that have some manageable warts. Still some DTs they can sign and address the edge via the draft.

If after doing all these restructures (and we might do more with Adam and Harry), they can't land a difference maker in FA "tomorrow" ...  on top of maybe being backed into a corner where you could be faced with a situation where yuh might need to deal Hunter away ... do you think Rick/Zim see the light and realize, they are getting fired unless we do something to sell hope, since they simply can't sell wins this coming year ... and transition the strategy to a) attempting to trade Cousins or b) moving up for QB

I'd tend to agree if this wasn't a habitual thing every year for the most part.

We don't spend up on FA, unless it's our own guys that get bad contracts like Barr and Rudolph.

Our last big FA splash was Cousins, and that's paid zero dividends.

Have to be a Brock Oswiler trade to get out of Cousin's deal. Then that forces our hand to trade up for a QB. Unless that is Wilson or Fields, then it is just another 4 years wasted at QB

“We don’t spend on FA”

Cousins, Remmers, Reiff, Richardson one a one year deal, Michael Pierce - they’ve spent plenty of money, and yeah, they paid their own players on top of that as well.

The Wilfs have shown time and time again to be willing to put money in escrow for guarantees and pay out signing bonuses

I'm starting to hope we just extend (pay up for) Hunter to make him happy, and not overpay for teir 3/4 guys who are not difference makers in the coming days which might put us in a worse position the following 1-2 years

Personally happy we didn’t pay this kind of money for him.

Agreed, odd thing is Carl Lawson is the better player than Trey Hendrickson so no clue why they let him go.  Basically got similar contracts, just Hendrickson is one more year both are around $15 mil a year, maybe Lawson just wanted out.
