Oh ok, if the rule is explicit about it being dead as soon as a QB knee touches the ground in ANY situation, it was the right call. 

Didn't know it was explicit like that.

QBs get penalties if they do that at any other part of the field and are hit.  They are down when they start to slide, head first or feet first.  His knee was down and the ball was not over the plane when he started his slide.  That is the rule.  Proper call, no TD.

it's the player safety and a running QB.  pretty sure it doesn't matter if the QB goes head first or feet first.  once knee/hip/elbow hit the ground, wherever the ball is, it is down
