hrubes20
Now that the offseason has officially started, we needed a new thread. The first item up is the biggest; the new CBA. Things are gonna get ugly.

Mesa_Titan
First time in 20 years the Mariners might be ready to make the playoffs? Work stoppage sounds about right.
Slateman
Every team in the NL East has won a World Series in this millennium. Except the Mets.

Yeah.....it's been widely reported as a loser offer - but I dont follow the Astro's close enough to know how badly they want him back - or if they can afford him. I know the Yankees aren't gonna pony up the years and money he's being talked about getting.....or at least I dont think so.

He can be our vet leader while Greene and Tork come up this year and we can add an arm or two to go with him. Should make us at least competitive in the Central since we had one of the best records after our 4-21 start. We have a low payroll now but the Illitch family isnt afraid to spend when it matters, and it finally matters. If not Correa, they will be trying for Seager, Story, and Baez. It's the standard "Look, we offered $32 AAV for him but he just didn't want to resign here" type of offer that teams always make to outgoing superstars from their own team to try and take the heat off themselves with the fanbase.
