His post made it sound like Seattle gave up more picks to offload Lane's bad contract.

That could make sense if there was a guaranteed base salary (a la Osweiler).  That's really the only way though.

That's alot to give up for a 32 year old LT, plus one LT won't help the rest of the offensive line.

Not much at all, to go from the absolute worst in the league to one of the best at a position where most teams have to overpay just to be average is enormous. This is a huge pick-up for Seattle. Nailing one position on the line often has a real domino effect, where double teams and additional resources can be diverted to help at spots where the talent is less developed.

Ask Rams fans how they feel about their new 35 year old left tackle after the Greg Robinson years.

Frank Clark went off as he had the best Pass Rush Productivity score in a single game this season against the Texans last Sunday, with a ton of snaps played vs Duane Brown, and Duane Brown still didn't look all that bad, stoning him in some of those. Good signing.

This is an important addition to the Seahawks OL, as they patch up our weakest link in pass protection, shift money away from the defense to the offense, specifically to the offensive line, protect Wilson's blindside more aptly as the Seahawks set themselves for a spread offense for the rest of the season, and buy us time to recover and develop George Fant one year further.

To get rid of Lane we gave up a second round pick and a 5th, even if Brown sucks more than Rees, the trade wins by that alone. lol

Now that Lane is off the table, does that change your thoughts at all?

@showtime how do you feel about the trade now?

Haha.  A bit worse now that Jeremy Lane is staying in Seattle, but overall still pleased.  Giving up that second and third rounder is going to sting a bit, but I really feel like the Seahawks need to make this move.  They're a legit contender to make it to the Superbowl.

i wonder what Calias Campbells Pass rush Productivity was vs the texans. i think he had some dumb stats like  4 sacks and stuff but that was partly cuz Savage sucks with mobility and they were without Brown. i bet hes licking his chops to do some more damage.
