Why don't players try to intentionally injure "bad people"

Vick is an interesting case. He was by his own admission a bad guy (he originally gave reasons but not excuses) He went to jail. He lost 10s of millions of dollars He expressed remorse and contrition and went out of his way to publicly support causes for animals  (with respect to the limits of what he was allowed to do by law)

He got picketed and protested and booed and called names even after all of that.

There was zero need for Batman to go after him on the field.

The same is true for Donte Stallworth and Leonard Little whether you agree with the degree and severity of their punishments.

He's a good fictional example. He does thorough research and scouting to make absolutely sure his target is a bad guy.

He might be executioner but at least he's also judge and jury.

He does not kill people because his feelings based on how he was raised, who he was raised by, and who he has come into contact with, determine guilt through some kind of flawed logic based fake omniscience.

Because they are professional athletes doing their job, not Batman trying to do vigilante justice

All that off the field stuff is to be dealt with by police and lawyers and judges

Because bad people don't care about what other bad people are doing and if you are the kind of guy to injure someone intentionally, you're prolly a terrible person yourself.

Myles Garrett tried. No one appreciated it.

I would add to all of these responses that, while they may not all articulate it this way, most players realize that it's not really in any of their interests to set a precedent of meting out extrajudicial punishment to "bad people," particularly when there's no universal, objective definition for that. Maybe your question starts with sadistic animal abusers, but what about wife beaters? And if wife beaters, what about philanderers? And tax cheats? etc.
