I’m not, he’s clearly going with BPA on his board.

Now we may not agree with the board, but if Pickens is off due to what seem to be legitimate reasons (as the rest of the league has too) the. Why would we reach an entire round just to get a position? Especially when his whole roster needs talent

I don’t have a problem going BPA at all.

Pickens has to be something legit with everyone passing on him.

Brisker is a solid player.

Our secondary is pretty strong right now with Johnson and Gordon at corner, Young at Nickel, Jackson and Brisker at Safety. Roquan at LB.

Not bad.

The question would be the plan to fill those needs if not with draft picks.

I’d bet Ogunjobi is still the plan at 3T

And for 2022 stop gaps, there’s plenty of vets we can still sign for the OL

If it’s not Pickens, I don’t want any of the other guys till like the mid-3rd in terms of value.

Id argue there was some good OL value sitting there, but there is still a whole lot of interior talent through the first 120 picks, and then some project Tackles after that.

That being said, I’d get Trai Turner and Eric Fisher on the phone right quick

Has anyone ever signed a FA mid-draft before?

Not sure what Poles is doing here. CB I get but a safety with our other pick. So where are the OL and WRs going to come from? Can't give Fields a bunch of late round prospects to work with. I'm not going to sugar coat it..this draft is not going how I intended it. Defense defense defense. Bears never change

Maybe it was Gayle? 🙂

Well, the safety group is pretty terrible. So there's that.

And we did need another corner.

Brisker and Gordon are quality guys...but I wouldn't have went that way.

The value of both picks shouldn't be questioned.  Only why Poles opted to fill needs on defense first.  The upside is we should now have another starting S to pair with Jackson and also a hedge against our trading or releasing Jackson next year.  Gordon is a solid CB from a program that produces CB like Iowa produces OL.
