Definitely expect some claims to go in for OT, S and maybe DT

No major surprises in my eyes. I would have preferred Shepherd, Davis, Hardee, and Johnson gone and kept Anae, Parks, Smart and Pinnock. But I’m not losing sleep over it. I also would have preferred Streveler over White but, again, no biggie.

I find it hilarious people bashed the Jets for trading up to get AVT and how the Viking "won" by landing Wyatt Davis and Kellen Mond. now they released both.

That is why these analytic nerds are wrong at times. If there is a player you really like and want, go get him because there is no guaranteed that waiting around for some guy you are meh on will be any good, probably will end up released.

@Bobby816 looks like Tony Adams will be the backup Nickel and backup Safety.

Dude must've balled out more than we all knew. I like any new player thats young that wows a staff. But since I didnt see him play much. I cant speak too much on him yet. Juts like I hoped with Pinnock..... I hope he can grab that starting FS role from Joyner at some point.

Do the Jets really have only four linebackers on the roster?  How is that going to work, especially considering how often Mosely gets hurt and Alexander.  They doing a nickel defense with 5 DBs as the base defense then?  Were kind of already doing that with Marcell Harris and Nasirildeen.

They run mostly 2 LBs but yes it's a risk with injuries.  I wouldn't be surprised if they see Whitehead as a 3rd LB then they have Joyner and Davis/Adams back there.

Nas still looks lost, Sherwood looks like a player at least.

Wyatt Davis was 1st team All American as a RS SOPH OG in one of the most successful college programs in the country.  The dude was a big time prospect and on paper was a steal where they got him.  But injuries slowed his college career, was hurt that last season at Ohio State as a RS JR and fell in the draft because of it, did not get any real playing time last year, was decent in the preseason but the NFL is so competitive the guy is cut.  Could easily get on the Vikings practice squad and still develop.

Mond, played good week 1 preseason then week 2 and 3 did not as much.  Has a good arm but still is pretty raw, was drafted because of his athletic ability but does not always use it and does lack confidence, but they needed a QB and he was the best one in the draft at the time they selected him.  He also I assume will be on the Vikings practice squad because the NFL is so competitive to even make a roster, look at all the guys recently drafted last season that were straight up cut.

Vera-Tucker plays and starts so of course they won that as of right now.

But do not forget the Vikings did get Christian Darrisaw in that trade as well, and he started last year at LT, did ok but not sure Vera-Tucker was any better than Darrisaw when healthy.  And Vera-Tucker plays an easier position, if he was at LT he would be struggling big time I think but is obviously better at OG and at times in college I thought Darrsaw would be a better OG also.  So it is not a total loss, and Darrisaw did not even participate in preseason last year, so was thrown in without much prep time, will see how he does this year with actual prep time and off season work unlike last year where he was coming off an injury and missed basically all of the preseason and offseason stuff.

Not sure why teams are doing that, sure helps in the passing game but so many teams are going back to power running of the football and if you have 2 LBs you could really struggle stopping the run game.  Go ask Dallas how that worked against the 49ers in the playoffs, they got ran on because Dallas was small up front without multiple LBs, they brought in Barr to help fix that.

But you got power run teams in the Ravens, Indy, Eagles, Titans, 49ers, Seattle is going to run the ball a ton, the Buccaneers have big powerful backs, Washington wants to run well, Cleveland for sure with their OL and backs, Green Bay run it well especially with youth at WR, Lions are going to want to be a physical run game, Vikings with the Rams influence and then obviously the Rams as well, Giants will if Barkley is healthy, Zek on Dallas is hard to deal with when healthy... etc   Tons of teams use that power run game up the middle and go off of that and there are so many good backs in the NFL, solid players get cut all the time.  So two LBs could be a mistake but will see, depends on how great the safety is.  Whitehead is tough and will help but does get hurt a decent amount, Joyner I have always liked but gets hurt a lot and Ashtyn Davis is decent, and Sherwood is basically a safety as was Marcell Harris and Nasirildeen really.

Me too. They love him, I think if we had some more picks he would have been picked probably in the 5th round or something. His RAS score is out this world. Hypothetically if Ashtyn Davis and him panned out we’d have the most athletic Safety duo in the league lol. Wishful thinking but look at what Cager became by a position change to utilize his strengths.
