He is the NFC's Carr. Plays like an MVP first half of the season, falls off a complete steeeeep cliff the second half. Both players, three seasons in a row.

I put more of that on Kliff than Kyler though, Kliff's teams were falling off with Mahomes in college down the stretch.

Fair… if you looked at pure bulk numbers. Break it up by seasonal halves and you’d probably see Kyler looking better in the 1st half and Allen looking better in the 2nd half. Gun to our heads, nobody is taking Kyler over Allen, and I challenge even the most die hard Cardinals fan to tell me otherwise.

But your main point is absolutely true and I don't want to come off as disagreeing because CERTAINLY no one outside of Murray's family is taking Kyler over Allen. The forest from the trees here is that last year was a "regression" from Allen's 2020 whereas it was the best year of Kyler's career by far and it's still debatably a better year for Allen overall. Only chimed in because I came in to destroy that guys take and found myself surprised by the stats.

Allen has only been playing high level football for a few years and appears to be a football junkie, so even though he's 26, I could buy him improving. He doesn't feel like a finished product. Kyler has been a superstar at some level for a decade now, and even though he's only 24 so I'd be tempted to say he could mature, at least in terms of his football habits that stuff has been ingrained for a decade now. He feels like he is who he is.

Not sure I agree that Kyler is who he is or that Allen is going to top 2020, but either way just keep in mind the original quote was -> Quote kyler was better than josh last year So potential shouldn't really matter into the discussion as we are really only discussing what happened last year. MWil23
Am I really supposed to take a guy seriously who is wearing an Easy Money shirt and then shamelessly flaunting his accolades dating back to high school while talking about how he’s the only guy in history to be some baseball and football elite prospect, Heisman winner, Pro Bowler, etc while feigning humility? I’d at least respect him more if he went full on villain and scorched earth mode. That 4 minute clip was the most unintentionally funny thing I’ve seen in a while.

Yeah I think we're getting at some of the same stuff, if you look exclusively at the numbers Kyler may come off better compared to his public perception. And for sure not everyone has to agree that Murray is who he is. But it's why I'd be low on him, why I wouldn't have drafted him if I was Kingsbury and knew who he was, and would have traded him before giving him this contract. I think the general idea of the team needing to shake things up I agree with but I'd start with the sports psychologist route before canning the HC.
