They acknowledged Ross actually offered 100K per loss.  But official line is that “he wasn’t serious”.   M’kay.

NFL found an easy way to save face here.  Not sure either side can say they’re clean here lol.

Being an NFL auditor has to be the easiest job alive.

An actual, documented bribe with a price point on it, and you don't even have to do any auditing or investigating. Just make a note that it was sarcastic tanking so it definitely didn't count.

Imagine if this went to an actual independent arbitrator.   Zero chance the league goes there.

Yeah I mean if you read their findings and don't come away with the impression that the auditors were specifically directed to avoid concluding tanking, and the punishment on the non-tanking was exaggerated to try and cover for it, I don't know what to say to you.

The dumbest auditor alive could follow those breadcrumbs. An actual investigative team with access to cell phone records would turn the league inside out.

It gives off a very “we already have meat inspectors” vibe from Packingtown in The Jungle pre Teddy Roosevelt vibe with those inspectors being paid by Packingtown to just rubber stamp “approved” on all outgoing meat.

It'll be very deflating if nothing happens to TB12 too

Why would anything happen to him? The NFL's tampering rules only work in one direction. And for good reason.

If anything, the Patriots and Bucs are the ones getting screwed over here, receiving no compensation when their player was tampered with.
