I hate to say it but it’s looking more and more like the only way we find a trade partner is Carr agrees to extend the 2/15 deadline or if we agree to eat some of the 2023 cap hit. Extending the deadline opens up so many options.

I'm guessing we end up cutting him.  I'm also guessing he wants to pick where he goes, more than he's concerned with keeping his current contract.

Agreed, most likely he will go for the trade, and then "Help" his new team by restructuring 2024+beyond by getting a large signing bonus on an extension (lots more guaranteed money for him) and spreading the cap hit out. This is the most logical course IMO. It guarantees a ton of money in his pocket and helps his new team

30 is not much more than the 25 that Rivers and Brady got a few years ago.

I think we'll be able to trade him, but it's not going to be great compensation.

Annoyingly Carr would have got at least a 1st moving into this year, but now we'll probably end up with a 3rd or something like that.

$28M APY is the biggest deal we've ever seen in NFL free agency. If Carr's agent is confident that he's going to get more than that after leading the league in interceptions and getting benched, like I said, good luck.

There's a 0% chance that Lamar Jackson hits the open market. He'll get extended, franchise tagged, or tagged then traded. 

The biggest deals we've ever seen in free agency have been 25/28M APY. Carr isn't going to get the biggest deal ever in free agency coming off of the year that he just had. His agent understands that and they'll work with the Raiders to get a trade done.
