incognito_man
How do we feel about the Jets offense lead by Nathaniel Hackett and Zach Wilson if they don't land Rodgers? Can that defense prevent them from getting the #1 pick?

It’s bold in the sense you think someone is trading down from 1.1 with a QB like Williams available. Unless this is some situation where a guy like Mahomes or Burrow is lost for the season early on, nobody is trading away 1.1 - they’ll just draft Williams. Another possibility - a team like the Texans, Colts or Raiders (teams likely to draft Young, Richardson, Levis) ends up with 1.1, and you better believe teams will have much more to give than the Rams - teams that already have multiple FRPs to deal. Unless the Rams naturally end up with 1.1 (which is possible) they’re not drafting Caleb.

They haven't picked No. 1 overall since 2001. And the last time they "earned" the No. 1 pick was 1988. Even though they had the #4, #8 and #8 pick the last three years, the two #8s were with Arthur Smith coaching. Smith can seem to milk a turnip somehow and gets the most out of his rosters. I think it's more likely the Falcons are in the playoffs than picking in the top 10 in 2023/2024.

There defense will probably win them a few games just themselves.

This sounds like wishful thinking from a rams fan perspective He couldn’t bring himself to put Rams at 1st overall by their own doing, but still wants Williams. never change stl4life

If they show flashes and are at least okay, then no. I'll be absolutely shocked if any team that takes a QB in the first this year takes a QB in the first next year. There's a reason we've only seen it happen twice in NFL history, most teams aren't going to give up on a QB they invested a FRP into after a year.

No shot they are picking #1 unless half the starters miss significant time.
