I eat so much crow they leave my garden alone. So I’ve got no problem with Megamind showing me up. Have at it, Noodle Arm!

If Love gets a concussion and misses two games and we're 4-2 at the time...do you want a chance to win those two games? That's the relevant situation you think about when deciding on whether you need a veteran. If you think Clifford or Etling are ready/good enough to win a game on Sunday, then it's one of them. Otherwise it's signing a vet. Pretty simple.

That's really the only scenario.

Odds of us winning the Super Bowl are, realistically, 1/32. We don't know what we've got as a coach, as a team after Rodgers. We could be absolute horse****, we could be better due to the spark of change, we could be somewhere in the middle.

What cannot be denied is the extreme importance of playoff experience to a young QB.

Our 2009 team was more than capable of a Super Bowl win. Our defense had some subpar performances, but it also held the opponent under 20 points in 10 games during that regular season. It was a defense that ran hot and ran cold. It was more than capable of a run of two or three great games.

Collins had finally hit that year and was a second team all-pro. Woodson won DPOY. Matthews had 10 sacks as a rookie.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 17 point lead against us in that postseason game and that was almost entirely due to our young offense not having any experience with the intensity increase in the playoffs. After that slow start, and especially in the 4th quarter, the Packers offense came to life and started dominating.

So yeah... Reaching the postseason even if we get crushed by 30 some points in that postseason game would be more valuable than a top 16 pick if it's the type of season where we're 1 or 2 games away from the playoffs.

If we're a 3-14 type team, though...

There's two ways to look at it. It's NEVER a good idea to lose games. Losing compounds and losers turn into losers. At the same time, if Love sucks - REALLY sucks - we don't really want to get into the stopgap QB market. If Love is some 11 TD, 17 interception, sub 60% completions, below 6.5 YPA QB, we're gonna want to get that next QB quick and give Love just a single year to prove his first year was a fluke.

This made me curious. I went back and looked at Patrick Mahomes first year as a starter he threw 50 TDs with 12 INTs. That is pretty crazy stuff.

Shifting it back to Love, I see no reason why he can't have success, say 3 - 1 TD/INT ratio. Maybe he puts up 30+ TDS. Given the youth at our skilled positions, that would be considered wildly successful.

Instead of "running it back" it's like Logan's Run. If you age out you get the Carousel.

I gave you a football for referencing one of the worst movies from any era, much less one almost 50 years old.

We really got screwed in that 2009 playoff game in AZ.

could be school related.  pretty sure there was a time (might still be) that players whose school semester had not ended couldn't attend rookie minicamp.

Also I think there was a rookie last year (dotson maybe) that the team told him go through his college graduation ceremony

Just watched his interview, he seems like a down to earth guy. He said trainers held him out for precautionary reasons on an undisclosed injury. Made it seem like it was a minor thing but didn’t want to aggravate anything before they ramp up the work. Hope he’s able to get out there. That competition for the final spot(s) at WR will be between a bunch of young guys trying to get a toe hold in the NFL. Hope it’s a good one and we keep a guy that could develop into something.

Tyler Davis is more likely to make the HOF than Clifford being "good."

Hey. Degura is that dude still. Lets not get it twisted

Right and really Deguara for the most part doesn't even play the same position as they do. The fact that they are all listed as TE's throws some people off.
