The worst part about this hire is that his name just doesn't have that great and easy cheap shot in it.  Joe Burried or Barried was just perfect.

Best we can probably do is come up with some half and half jokes.  And that really is a shame because of how diluted that is.

I'm not surprised that the job went to someone that nobody knew about...so far as this job opening was concerned.

I'm both underwhelmed by the choice as well as very excited by the choice.

I like how he talks, I like his youth.  I LOVE how he talked about playing defensive backs.  It is all making sense to me.

But ultimately it is the results that will matter.

 

It's a big mystery bag.  I like what I hear, but I have to see it on the field.

I guess the question is why he decided to go the college route. It might simply be the offer at a premier program like Ohio State gave him the best springboard  to HC position. The college game has certainly changed quickly since then so his reasoning to jump back to the pros checks out. Hopefully he really just is all about football which means he should fall in love with GB even before training camp starts. 

I think he simply wanted to coordinate and got that opportunity at Ohio St.

No because your base defense is irrelevant, everyone is in nickel now.

No more of this three or even two down linemen BS with convoluted responsibilities.

Let our DL attack and let our ILBs react.

Every single time I saw us line up on third or fourth and short running those dumb looks I died a little inside.

If you want to be confusing, be confusing in your secondary. Keep the front 7 simple.

I’m pretty sure what people really mean when they refer to the 4-3 is having the extra DT there. Trading an ILB for a lineman. I’m sure if people are posting on the board know that nickel is basically the base defense .

a 3-4 has more DT bodies than a 4-3..

I'm not sure why you're so fixated on the stance that your EDGE guys are in.  The only difference between an odd front and even front is you're trying to disguise where your 4th pass rusher comes from.
