Packerraymond's ***Top Packers Cap Expert Extraordinaire; Even Better Than Russ Ball and Jesus Combined*** Additional Comments:

Cut Bakh, cut Jones, restructures to Clark, Alexander, Jenkins, long-term deal to Jordan Love and the Packers will sit at 57m under the cap in 2024.

Someone needs to convince me Johnston isn't Kevin White. I see an overhyped physical specimen coming out a school that doesn't produce good NFL receivers. I learned my lesson with Reagor.

That is the downside, no doubt.  There are Kevin White vibes there.  That's why JSN is just a tick higher for me.  It is a sure thing.

Can also restructure Preston, Rasul and DeVondre for another 20m in cap space.

Rashan Gary's extension is the only looming number that will eat into this.

Interesting....care to expound on that?

Personally, still too much up in the air with him for a May 1st commitment of $20m guaranteed. Worst case scenario, he bombs and you have a bad situation on your hands with a QB guaranteed $20m on your cap who you may not want to extend. If it goes the other way and Love succeeds at least to the point where the Packers want to extend him, you can always franchise him for about an extra $10m and then work out a long term deal. I can see the argument both ways, but in terms of working something out long term, I think the Packers hold more leverage with Love coming off one season and not having a $20m security blanket for 2024. The Packers always have the power to franchise him, and if he shows he's the type of player worth franchising, they won't care about shelling out the extra money now, which presumably gets reworked anyways with a longer extension.

All this being said...I expect Gute to exercise the option.

0% chance he's not given the 5th year.

Not sure why people get so fired up about Ken, all he does is what every accountant does and that is gives out actual numbers. Any person with half a brain knows there will be many options to massage those numbers next off season. Doesn't change what it is right now, just points out there will be some work to do.

No it's accurate. Just doesn't mention how easy it is for Packers to create cap space next year.

See Packerraymond's (best Packers cap wiz GOAT) post above.

No it's not. Both overthrcap and spotrac show this roster minus Rodgers plus Love's option in the $221-227mil range for 2024. We're currently $30mil under the projected cap of $256 with a lot of ways to clear even more.

This is why.
