Good move. Always liked Davis as a player and coach during his time here.

I'm going to get some of the specifics wrong on this story...but here goes....

Kirwan was talking on Sirius XM about long snappers one day.  He told a story about how he was a scout and heard about this great long snapper, Rob Davis.  So Kirwan tries to find him and finds him stocking shelves at a local grocery store.

Pat gives him a ball and has him snap to trash cans in the alley behind the grocery store.  Davis dents the trash cans.  Then he puts up a soda can at different depths....he keeps knocking down all the cans.

So he goes to his team and tells them to draft the long snapper.  They don't.  But I want to say that maybe they signed him as a UDFA.  Then he goes on to have this long career in the NFL.

Just a cool story about Davis.

You've got the UFDA part right.

Yep.  Can make a valid argument that terrible ST have cost GB two SB appearances in the past decade (2014, 2021)

Agree .. special teams haven't been special for years. For those who say it was Rodgers, the defense and/or the offense keeping them out of the SB .. some are correct.  However, as you stated, those 2 years were directly responsible for no SB appearance.

2014 was the definite one for sure, but 2021 happened in an earlier round of the playoffs and is more of a 'maybe'.

I'm kind of excited for him next year. 4.3 speed and had some big games vs Ohio State, Michiga, Indiana, etc

The best thing Melton has in that video that'll translate would be those Jet Sweep runs. He's going to have to get used to NFL-Level passing and really bone up on his timing routes(so many jumpball situations in those highlights, which he won't really get away with at the next level). If he can prove himself a legit threat with his speed he'll get some real chances on the outside, but he so far seems destined for a Slot role, which is fine, as we need that niche to be covered. If he shows a willingness and talent to run as a gunner on ST he'll possibly survive being 6th on the Depth Chart(following a Vet addition and another rookie).

Love Mike Sando going on cowherd talking about how some NFL Executive saying that the packers are in for a world of hurt with Love. That it’s dark times now… like it news and fact.

Its some nfl executive’s opinion… hilarious

I did see a lot of under thrown balls too that allowed defenders to catch back up to him, necessitating the jump balls.

He has potential and a golden opportunity to command a roster spot. Should be interesting to watch in training camp.
