End of story. I think that was his point. You’re saying “when you’re touched” but there was no action by the DB to touch him. If he comes towards the ball he isn't in the endzone. Def wasn't on the receiver, although usually you're supposed to come attack the ball instead of letting it come to you obviously. So would you prefer to go back to the days where guys laying on the ground were having people dive at them? It's a good rule to preserve player safety. It's not an over protection at all.
