You instantly redeemed yourself! Lol

btw i edited by post, fyi.

i haven’t played video games since Travian Smith was my version of Chase Young lol,,, I wouldn’t line him up as a 9wide.... it was more like 13wide LOL and just rush super wide with his speed and get the sack.  But even then I’d sign mad FAs and immediately trade them LoL and build a dynasty.

That's exactly what I did.  Once my players wanted new contracts I would trade them for 1st round picks.  Ended up with Chase Young, Henry Ruggs, Ja'Marr Chase, picked up Chris Jones, Leighton Vander Esch, and Jimmy Smith in FA.  Had some other great picks as well, just can't remember all their names.  Waller, Renfrow, Jacobs, Crosby all hit 90+ overall ratings.  It was fun for 3 seasons, but I stopped playing about a month ago.

But those SOS numbers are based on last years and can drastically change as teams improve or regress as the season goes along.

Our PreSeason SOS was ranked #32 (the worst or hardest) with  .539% (137-117-2) .....

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2019-nfl-strength-of-schedule-patriots-and-redskins-have-it-easiest-raiders-face-roughest-ride/

.... but by the end of the ‘19 season our SOS was 0.482%, which ranked #23.

So true! People talk about strength of schedule like it's set in stone but as you've said, so so much changes from one year to the next that it really is a stat or number that is a guesstimate at best.

Which guys you think could make a big jump to be difference makers in 2020?

Big Jump:

Jacobs- I really think he has top 5 back potential. He was playing like a borderline top 10 back as a rookie. More weapons around him should set up up for a progression.

K Miller- I don’t know if he has top 5 LT ceiling but I think this is the year he gets his respect. He has been steadying improving his game and build. I see this is the year he puts it together, and is established as a top 10 LT.

Crosby- was last year a fluke? Max seems poised to truly establish himself as a QB nightmare. Rooting for Mad Max to climb

Ferrell- last year started off slow, before flashing some of his potential. The game should slow down in year two, and we could see the jump and the player Mayock was high on.

Mullen- he looked good last year, can he emerge as a solid starting CB for the next decade? Hopefully year 2 he establish himself as a CB to avoid.

Collins/Hurst- just a gut feeling, but I have a feeling one of these guys emerges and has a great season. Hurst has flashed his potential, perhaps this is the year he puts it all together. Collins has some of the best PFF DT pass rush numbers, playing for a new contract and still young. Wouldn’t be surprise if either became a force and pro bowler this year.

Mild Jump:

Waller- hard to get better from last year, but I think this year he gets over 10 TDs and just hits another level to a top 3 TE. Last year was basically his rookie year, and he played like a top 5 TE.

Renfrow- targets might not be there this year, but I expect him to be efficient in moving the chains. Hunter was looking really good in the middle/late season. He belongs in this league, and was making plays when nobody else stepped up. Renfrow game is about finding the soft spot in the defense and overall awareness which will come with more experience. I don’t think Renfrow will be a pro bowler, but I see a really good slot wideout.

Abram- basically a lost year for this hard hitter. Should make his mark on defense this upcoming year. Will get his feet wet and show why Mayock was high on him.

Ruggs- I expect his speed to be a factor Day 1 similar to Hollywood Brown. Shouldn’t expect him to be a pro bowl this year, but he should make an impact during his rookie year. Get his feet wet, and help this team in 2020

Carr- year 3 in a complex system, finally has weapons on his side. A bit on the hot seat, I could DC getting back to his pro bowl days.

Wildcards:

Agholor, Zay Jones, Moreau, Key, Hall, I Johnson,  plus the rest of the 2020 rookie class

Players who should stay at the same level: Ingold, T Brown, Hudson, Nassib, Hankins, Kwit, Littleton, Prince, Randall

players who could regress: Richie, Witten, Joyner

your thoughts?

your thoughts?

Jacobs I dont think makes a big jump as he's already very, very good. Maybe he just becomes a little more well rounded.

Crosby again was very good so expect a small technical jump and slightly better run defence but not a big jump.

Ferrell I expect a big jump - dont expect that much better sack stats but the eye test will be much better and he'll get much more pressure but still have trouble converting to full sacks i feel.

Renfrow I can see becoming a real go to staple of the offence. I can see him having the most catches of any of the receivers.

Hall and Hurst I expect more consistent play and better stats from both. Hall will hopefully have more impact pushing the pocket and Hurst I can see making a jump as a specialist pass rusher.

The other guy could be Marquel Lee who makes the jump to solid starting LB and isn't spectacular but very solid.

Carr I think played well last year so his stats might jump a little and his play will have the appearance of being better due to better supporting cast but in real terms he'll probably be operating at about the same skill levels - if that makes sense 😀

Not to derail and bait the Carr haters, but he had a good season in 2019. He moved the ball most games, but was hard to punch it in the end zone with limited weapons.

I also don’t want to stoke the Carr haters (Where is by bff BayRaider these days?... did he just quit the board once none of his projections came thru in the draft? Lol)....

but I think the added weapons will help Carr with the issue of converting RedZone touchdowns AND scoring TDs by Extending drives inside the 30/35 instead of FGs:

The added speed isn’t going to help a ton in the RedZone but it will help when we’re at the 30/35/+.  we should be able to score some longer TDs and won’t to deal with the RedZone defenses.

The added weapons and hopefully Williams staying healthy will keep teams from being able to throw tons of resources to shut down Waller.... so I expect Waller to see more TDs.

Lastly, when you have to respect the pass that will help us run the ball in the red zone.  I still really wish we added a big pounding RB2.

I think Carr has a good season, not 2016 form but enough to end the debates around moving on from him.  I think it’ll be a two year process of proving his weapons and developing them before he really blows up.

I think PJ Hall proves to be a solid DT, and I’ve discussed this recently.  Also, I think Marquel Lee becomes a decent starting LB, not a star by any means but enough to get resigned in FA (or before).  I think one of Hurst or Collins makes the jump to being a top pass rushing DT.  Crosby, Ferrell, and Mullen will all improve.  I will say if Crosby has 8 sacks that doesn’t mean he had a down year.  I think Ferrell makes the biggest jump of the 3.  I think Abrams really plays well for us too.  I also think Joyner plays decently, not enough to keep due to his cap cost, but he won’t be a dissappointment like last year.

I think Kolton Miller improves and becomes a top 8 LT.  Jacobs will get better but he played so well last year it’s hard to expect THAT much more, and he isn’t an explosive guy.  Moreau will improve but I don’t think he blows up stats-wise but to sharing snaps with Witten.  Renfrow could possibly see less balls thrown his way and snaps if Agholor or Zay Jones step up.

We really need to get Waller more looks in the RZ. Honestly it's a damn travesty he only finished with 3 TD's this past year. I mean 90 receptions and 1,145 yards for a TE is absolutely incredible but again... 3 TD's!? I know he got tackled on the 1 yard line in the GB game and there were probably other close ones too but damn!

Not only that he’s over 6’6”, weight 255, with 33.25” arms and 80.5” wingspan and 37” vert.....

If there was ever a TE made for the RedZone it is Darren Waller.... he’s the ideal RZ target from a physical standpoint.

The problem wasn’t that Waller wasn’t productive, it was he was almost always doubled or tripled.  Teams basically said we’ll let you beat us with anyone but him.

Pretty stats dont mean anything when you suck in the redzone, cant get the offense started in the 2nd half of games, cant beat a good team to save your life and when you year after year prove you cant function against the cream of the crop of our division in KC. They make him look pitiful every year. Especially in KC when its cold. Look up USC vs Fresno St 2014 and tell me thats not how Carr looks every year vs KC. Self destruction at it's finest.

That's where Witten comes in to play.

I would love to see 3TE sets in short yard situations.

Written, Waller and Moreau will kill the LBs on a goal line defense. If the defense runs a nickel the Raiders can just run the ball with Jacobs. It's a win win.

Bringing up Fresno State vs USC shows your bias. A mid major team versus a powerhouse with all Americans.

J Cole fan hmmm???? Here’s a bar

DC HAD NO WEAPONS/  Can’t get TDS without AB/

should be able to under stand that. This year Carr has actually weapons! Raiders have rebuilt the  roster in the last two years , so of course we been losing to KC.

Your absolutely right.... Witten’s main Purpose will be in the RedZone and short distance IMO.
That’s a sick 3 TE set to use!  How do you defend those 3 plus Williams ?
