Nabbs4u
Sorry but there is No downside whatsoever to this Trade from an Eagles perspective. Howard was a Horrible fit in Nagy's offense, period. Or Nagy was incapable of using him properly? Unlike Nagy, Pederson has shown the ability to adapt playcalling to fit his players aka Ajayi and Blount's roles as a Eagle. Howard when healthy is better then both or at minimum on Par with Ajayi. Howard like every RB on the Roster will never be the Bell Cow as a Eagle. He will have a role depending on matchup where in most games he gets 8-15 touches and every once and a blue moon if on fire, force fed 20-25. Great Addition "If indeed healthy"! He gave Howard a good go early in the year and it didn’t work with the scheme/personnel. Maybe he should’ve seen that coming, but he was only a first year coach. Their offense really opened up as Cohen got more touches.
WindyCity
The Bears offense was better with Howard not on the field last season. It was crazy how the efficiency numbers would flip in personnel packages where he wasn't playing. Howard has a limited skill set. He is very good at what he does, which is outside zone and pass blocking, and he is brutal at everything else. He is kind of like a basketball player that only rebounds and dunks. They have value, but it is not as high as if they could shoot and defend and it is not a fit in all offenses. The Positives If you let him run outside zone he is a very productive player and is hard to tackle once he is moving. He is a really solid pass protector. He will miss the odd assignment, but when he squares up a DB or LB he blocks him. The Negatives When you factor in how bad a tell he is on passing plays he was probably a net negative to the passing game. He did catch 20/26 passes, but his average depth of target was .19 yards and he ran check down and screen. When the Bears ran power run plays he was hard to watch. His average went from 4.1 YPC on zone to 2.9 YPC on power run plays. The Bears want to be about 50/50 between zone and power and they ended up moving to 80-20 because of Howard. There is just no explosion to his game. He had 276 touches last season and 10 explosive plays.

eagles18
regardless of negative opinions here.. eagles got him for a conditional 6th. All of us can agree he is worth more than that. Howie stole him.
Nabbs4u
Quote At 6-feet, 224 pounds, Howard brings power to the ground game, and he brings a nose for the end zone. Howard's 18 touchdowns since 2017 are tied for the third most in the NFL behind the Rams' Todd Gurley (30) and New Orleans' Alvin Kamara (22). Howard and Dallas' Ezekiel Elliott are the only two running backs in the NFL with 900-plus yards rushing in each of the last three seasons. And in short-yardage situations (third- or fourth-and-2 or fewer), Howard converted 74 percent of his opportunities this past season (23 of 31), just behind Elliott who was successful 76 percent of the time (35 of 46). Howard's "explosive" runs numbers have dropped since his rookie season, but the Eagles think he's going to fit into the offense as a move-the-chains running back who can be effective as a checkdown receiver in the passing game

Funny how easily we forget based off a down year with a new HC/Offense. Quote The Bears might miss Howard, who set the franchise's rookie rushing record with 1,313 yards in 2016. The back also reached 2,000 rushing yards faster (24 games) than Walter Payton and Gale Sayers. Since entering the league, Howard has the third-most rushing yards of any running back in the league (3,370), just behind Ezekiel Elliott(4,048) and Todd Gurley (3,441). Love how some are acting like he's a Scrub!! 🙄
Danger
At worst I see this as a lateral move from Ajayii, with less likelihood of being injured and possibly more upside. He isn't a factor in the passing game unfortunately, that's the biggest negative about him.
