Peterson certainly didn't add much value there, which forced the Vikings hand. Playing with guys named Rivers and Brees might have helped with that. Peterson played one season of his entire career with a competent quarterback. There were eight men in the box every time he lined up, and he still dominated.
SteelKing728
Certainly, but I have a bad feeling that he's going to be a 2nd ballot guy. I don't think he'll get the love he deserves.
Uncle Buck
He is one of the ten most talented and productive running backs in the history of the game. He absolutely should make it into the Hall of Fame.
Klomp
Dude has had TWO 1,000-yard seasons AFTER turning 30. In 12 seasons, he's only failed to reach 1,000 four times. Those seasons include a 970-yard season in 12 games, a 10-game season split between two teams, and two years where he didn't even appear in a quarter of the games. He's 8th all-time in rushing, and will almost definitely be 6th by the end of the season (366 yards needed) with a decent chance at 5th (784 yards). As for HOF, 13 of the top 16 rushers all-time are in the HOF. The lone exceptions? Frank Gore (4th and still active), Peterson (8th, active) and Edgerrin James (13th). I believe the rest of the Top 10 were all in on their first chance too.
vikings209
To me you can't the story of the NFL without mentioning AD. Like several people have said he was a generational talent. Off the field he made some mistakes but he'll be enshrined 5 years after he retires.
byuvike88
I don't really think there will be any doubt that he will be a hall of famer, and I fully expect him to be first ballet.

swede700
Adrian Peterson: We really look good with Case Keenum https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/07/16/adrian-peterson-we-really-look-good-with-case-keenum/ As Arif has indicated on Twitter, what a surreal headline.

Off the field issues are not supposed to have any bearing on hall of fame voting. Besides, his off the field issue is fairly minuscule compared to other hall of famers. It's a recent quote.
pacman5252
Barring sone type of Pete Rose/Darren Sharper situation, Peterson will be in the HOF. The lack of a title and his parenting might keep him from being first ballet though since that matters to some voters, but he has the numbers, was genuinely the best player at his position during his time, and arguably the most talented rb ever. It’s too bad he was doomed playing with a bad OL from pretty much 2010-2015 and with T Jack/Ponder the majority of his prime outside of the Favre year(s).
