ESB's worst trait is he doesn't play special teams.

That could very well be - cant say for sure - but he was gunner on some punt coverages during the PS. Caused (?) and snagged a fumble if I remember correctly.

Ian Rapoport:  A follow-up from yesterday: The Seahawks were the only team to put in a claim for former Patriots WR Josh Gordon. He landed at No. 28 on the waiver priority list.

  • Jason Wilde:  There you go, Packers fans. Gutey did not put a claim in on Gordon.

Why some fans even brought it up as a possible option is beyond my comprehension. They apparently haven't seen a single press conference or interview all season.

hmmm...He costs nothing because he's probably worth nothing. He can't stay clean... so he's not available on Sunday
If he could actually contribute this year, then why did the Pats just spend a 2nd on Sanu after all the time & effort they invested in babysitting Gordon ?
Brady took him under his wing and even invited Gordon to move in with him. Now they dumped him.
What might we infer from that series of events ? :)

Let's see what happens when we add Adams, Tonyan and even a little Sternberger to the # 7 scoring offense (# 2 over the last 3 weeks)

Maybe Tom told Bill that Josh was a bad kisser.

Just think that if Rodgers had thrown the flea flicker sure TD plus catchable balls on all the uncatchable balls he's thrown to MVS, MVS would be on pace for a 1,000 yard season.

MVS has 41 targets and 1 drop.  He's got 22 catches on those 41 targets.  Lol.  Some high percentage passes Rodgers is throwing to MVS.

In 4 less games, Adams has 47 targets.

Allison has 3 drops on 34 targets with 20 catches.
Lazard has 15 catches on 18 targets.

The only player with a lower catch percentage to targets this year is Sheperd.

You can look at that one of two ways.  You can (incorrectly) assume that MVS can't come down with catches, or you can assume that Rodgers is not throwing him catchable balls.

And some of you think Rodgers would throw to a first round rookie.

It's always gotta be spun on Rodgers some way.

MVS is what he is, he's the best version of Trevor Davis as a WR. Soft and easily bullied underneath, great speed, deep threat, tracks the ball quite well over the shoulder, definitely has a place for him on an NFL roster.

His landmarks on short routes are bad, he lets DBs bully him and then instead of fighting back to hit his landmarks he finds the path of least resistance and ends up there, Rodgers is going to throw the ball to the landmark. That's why MVS gets deep targets and little else.

Perfect #3 or #4 WR, guy that plays 35-50% of snaps. #2 he is not.

I'm still pissed we might have IRd our 2nd best WR so that Shep, Fadol Brown and James freaking Crawford wouldn't get claimed. Brilliant Gute.

Or you can assume that Rodgers is not throwing to him because he's not open. That's what I think is happening most of the time.

Why would Gute want Gordon?  Not many want to add a player that you have to babysit all the time.  You'd almost have to get the guy a handler to watch him and make sure he stays on the straight and narrow.

Gordon will always be one Friday night away from a permanent ban in the NFL. Why even deal with it.

So, this WR/TE group is still in shambles.  Anyone and Everyone is playing significant snaps.  Kumerow is still out there, Lazard is doing whatever he's doing, MVS is losing a lot of snaps to both...

Allison is playing 66% of snaps and that's #2 on the team and he's being used like a RAC gadget guy, Marcedes Lewis is playing over 50% of snaps and more than any 3rd WR.  MVS played 11 snaps - guy must be hurt?  So much for a "clear breakout player who had one of the best rookie seasons ever"

This is a clear a sign as any of there being no good options at the #2 behind Adams.  Jimmy made a couple plays but only saw 4 targets, and couldn't complete the process on that EZ target.

By snaps we played 1.4 TE,  2.3 WR, 1 RB, 0.2 FB vs Carolina.

If you're only playing 2ish WRs, you really don't need a great slot player.  What you need is a very good #2 WR or a very good TE.  Something this team desperately lacks.
