I don't think we really did anything to him, but I do think he is a flyball pitcher and has Camden Yards PTSD. Not to mention playing behind some pretty bad outfields over the past two seasons. If you look at his splits, the change to a pitcher's park alone should make a good bit of difference, and even if it doesn't, it is a durable starter for the Angels, something they desperately need. You guys ruined him as a prospect. IIRC, the O's, for the longest time, had a specific pitching windup/delivery that they made every prospect use. It (along with injuries) ruined Hunter Harvey, Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman.

His home/away splits for his career are pretty equal. Bundy is just a guy and not even a good just a guy. They could spend a couple million more and get Tanner Roark or Julio Tehran. Somewhere @CWood21 knows the Cardinals getting a comp pick is BS, but he dug himself in a hole arguing it 3 years ago and is too proud to admit he's wrong so he just trolls about it instead.

It goes beyond what @beekay414 said. Sure, we had that cookie cutter method of development under Showalter and would ban certain pitches from being used. And we invested a lot of draft capital in pitchers and most of them didn't pan out as expected. But as an organization, when the last two TORP's that you developed were Erik Bedard and Mike Mussina, there's a deep-rooted issue with the development system that goes beyond just the decisions made in the Showalter-Duquette area. Already in one year, Mike Elias has made some great strides with the development system, purging a lot of the "old school" guys who didn't get on board with his programs, and completely remaking the front office. There were guys protected by Peter Angelos for years under different GMs. That he was finally given the greenlight to get rid of those guys speaks volumes to how committed the sons are to getting this team where it needs to be. Just don't ruin Grayson Rodriguez. That's all I ask.
MWil23
I can't wait to get a new favorite Cleveland Indian for the next 5 years after this cheap Dolan regime trades Lindor.
Leader
If accurate, the checkbook is coming out...... The New York Yankees have made signing right-hander Gerrit Cole their clear offseason priority and have ownership-level approval to offer him a record-setting deal, sources familiar with their plans told ESPN. Leader
Jeff Passan - The San Diego Padres are deep into talks to acquire outfielder Tommy Pham, sources familiar with the negotiations tell ESPN. A prospect would go along with him to San Diego, and outfielder Hunter Renfroe and top prospect Xavier Edwards would be the return for Tampa Bay. Reports are officially getting my hopes up. It’s gonna suck when we get the “the Angels just went to a number we weren’t comfortable” quote after he signs. Then the “he really wanted to stay in Washington” after Strasburg signs.
