He actually ended the year on a decent note, but it’s unwise to judge trades based on old prospect rankings anyway. Preller’s team knows talent, and Grisham is pretty good too.

I’m a Preller skeptic but I’ll take the wait and see with this trade. The more I read on Grisham, The more I like him.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the A's are discussing possible trades of Jurickson Profar, Blake Treinen, and Josh Phegley.

As noted by Rosenthal, "all three players are non-tender candidates as they enter their final years of arbitration before reaching free agency." Profar was acquired from the Rangers last December after a breakout 2018 season in Texas, but he went on to bat just .218/.301/.410 across 518 plate appearances with Oakland. The former top prospect is projected to make around $5.8 million in 2020 via the arbitration process. Treinen, who lost his closer gig in 2019 to Liam Hendriks, is projected for a salary bump to $7.8 million.

Would love for NYY to find a way to get Profar. Would be a solid replacement for what DJLM was supposed to be with him likely manning 2B now.

Pirates hired Derek Shelton as their new manager.

Kyle Gibson took a 3 year deal with the Rangers. It's where Twins pitchers go to die.

It's where all pitchers go to die

The park has a Coors like reputation to pitchers. No good pitchers want to go there and most pitchers don't come out of there smelling like roses.

Truthfully I think for places that have a reputation for being great hitters parks that ends up being more of a disadvantage to them than anything else. More than coaching or revenue. Colorado, Texas, Cincinnati they just don't really have a chance at getting top pitching without nailing the draft and/or trades. Philly getting Lee it sign as a FA (after trading him) is one of the few times I can remember a team with a really hitter friendly park being able to sign a pitcher like that. I imagine the Yankees could pull it off if they wanted to.

A good amount of teams made a mistake in the hopes of getting more offense. They should have built neutral stadiums.

Isnt it a brand new park?
