Gronk returns, traded to TB

I know this isn’t a Brady thread, but I’m staggered by the fact some people genuinely believe the idea that he won’t be able to function with Evans and Godwin, or that the offense will somehow regress moving from Jameis Winston to TB12. Laughable.

On Gronk - even if he’s not what he was, he’s still a premium blocker and decent RZ threat. I would rather he never play again, it was hard to watch him limp around at the end, but I’ll be cheering for him anyway.

Whoever the GM is for the Bucs is actually driving this young-and-upcoming team into the goddamn ground. BoB would be proud.

Not sure what you mean by running them in to the ground? They werent going to pay winston, and Howard has been on the trade block since last years deadline they knew he wasnt going to be there long term which is why they extended brate over him this offseason. So please let me know how they are running this team in the ground with the up and comers, if anything they are looking to win a superbowl now and in the future as it shows this organization wants to win and are willing to make the moves. 2 months ago they weren't even being discussed as a playoff contender now they are possibly one of the best teams in the NFC.  What is a 4th rd pick going to get you that a Te of Gronks caliber can offer? Season starts in 5-6 months depending on this covid thing he has time to bulk up a bit but the chemistry of him and brady are there and the bucs GM knows that. In a time of uncertainty this is actually a sneaky good move because he has always been tom's safety net and will be that net early on until he builds the chemistry with godwin and evans. Solid defense against the run, a high power offense, all they need is some DB help, an upgrade at oline, and possibly an rb to help out in times. Saints are no longer a lock to win that division.

so much hate SOOO MUCH HATE lol

waaa waaa Belichick didnt want him so we traded him so that must mean hes washed up

waa Brady is gona suck bc he cant throw 3 yards down field

waaaa

chill tf out peeps

Brady will be fine

yea hes declining, but hes still the GOAT

Evans and Godwin made Jameis into a 5k passer and u all think that Brady cant thrive??

and now Gronk for a 4th ? its a steal, even if only for PR purposes ONLY, but u know Gronk will ball , even if used minimally , hes just another distraction in the pass game

WHO WILL YOU COVER? you cant double ANYONE,

im getting a little tired of the whole "Patriot way *EYE ROLL*" Belichick hasnt drafted well in YEARS , alwasy hoarding these picks and how many has he hit on recently?? Hes done a better job reinventing other FA players than drafting

its been tough being a Bucs fan for yearsssss

these moves immediately thrust us into the limelight and give us MULTIPLE Prime Time games

and u know what? i think it makes us a pretty damn good football team too

Classy move by BB. He could have said no to any trade. Similar to Jimmy G, he tries to trade his guys to good situations.

Not really. He traded Jamie Collins to the 0-16 Browns. He traded Chandler Jones to the hapless Cardinals.

They’ll do what makes sense for them.

this news is absurd news it really is

the question is will he be the force majeure gronk we all know or will he be a retired tight end on the wrong side of thirty who's rusty afte a year off

force majeure or not though brady now has three good TE's and arguably the best one-two punch at WR in the entire league, as well as a coach who can use them

this will also help mitigate the fact brady would have had to build rapport with the bucs o by adding a familiar weapon

Well he could have said no but then they wouldnt be getting anything out of it. The Pats are just about to the level of a total rebuild, Gillmore and a couple of shiny pieces and thats it the overall team is at the lowest they have been since entering the 2000s so why not take on a pick for someone who was sitting at home. I think if they had an opportunity to trade him to another team for that high of a pick they would have done so but we know gronk wouldnt have showed up as he wants to play with his boy.

The Pats get a mid round pick and are able to use that for younger talent to start the rebuild, It could also be ammo to move up for a qb if they see one worth getting. Pats fans need to realize that dark time will be coming no need to be salty that both Tom and Gronk are back together, got to focus on figuring out how not to suck for the next decade with out their HoF Qb.

worst case is they only suck for a year and then get lawrence, and that is when we march on 1 patriot way with out pitchforks and our torches

This is a SB caliber team. From 30 INTs in a year to what, maybe 10 or less?  And a massive upgrade at TE too? Gronk with a year off should be primed for what he knows may be one last chance at ANOTHER SB. So lame that he "retired" only to return - NFL should have a rule saying if you retire you can't play again for a minimum of say 3 yrs.

I've gone from neutral to hating TB. So their odds are fantastic.

Heath Miller caught about 50 balls a year back in the day.

BA moved away from TEs later. But he's used one once before.

Yup and in early Peyton Colts era (1998-2004) with Pollard and Dilger (Tom Moore was the QB /offense quality control coordinator I think Arians called the passing plays from what he said a few years back) kinda similar to Belicheck with Gronk and 81

It’s crazy that ESPN consistently puts out worse photoshop edits than dudes on instagram with the handle “HardcoreHectorEdits🔥💯” and 33 followers

To be fair Hector do be putting out fire photos though.
