It’s amazing how fast cinci was able to turn around their franchise with basically a franchise qb and WR and a bunch of pieces around them while having a pretty mediocre Hc

They just have solid to good talent at every position group minus OL Still not sure what to think of Taylor as HC.

Everyone talks about the skill players and the offense, but their defense is really solid. Iirc they had the highest tackle rate/fewest missed tackles in the league.

Here are some other noteworthy tidbits from this article: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35532675/mad-scientist-lou-anarumo-man-bengals-defense

“…finishing 2022 sixth in points allowed (20.13 points per game) and third in opponent's Total QBR (47.5).”

”In the second halves of games dating back to the start of the 2021 season, the Bengals rank second in points allowed (8.64), first in defensive red zone efficiency (38.7% stop rate) and third in opposing QBR (36.3), according to ESPN Stats & Information.”

They have talent, tailor their scheme week to week based on their opponents and do a great job of adjusting mid-game.

Cinci is going to very tough to deal with for a few years. The offense they run is what made Ohio States offense such a pain in the *** for Georgia to defend.

They will live with pressure and sacks, but they stretch you out and force you to defend every inch of grass.

They'd be smart to lockup Higgins to pair with Chase and Burrow for the next 5-7 years while letting Boyd and Mixon walk, then re-tooling the 3rd WR and RB positions via the draft.

I think they should also lock down Wilson at LB and try to keep that DL intact as well.

If they keep Higgins and stay healthy, they're not going anywhere the next decade.
