We’re gonna have to agree to disagree here and see what happens in the next few years.

You’re mistaken, I never said not having too mechanics disqualifies you from being a good QB. Both Lamar and Rivers are very good QBs.

I said in order to be a great QB you absolutely need the fundamentals down.

Side note: Rivers throwing motion isn’t as bad as Lamar’s drops, mechanically speaking.

Footwork is more important than throwing motions.

This is what I am talking about. you value mechanics over production/ability and then go on to create an argument based on a scenario where you take away a trait from a player (Lamar couldn't win without his athleticism which Wilson/Rodgers/Mahomes could).

That would be the same as creating a scenario where Mahomes suddenly isn't the same player because he doesn't have his current arm strength.

You are just derailed.

Let’s revisit this convo in the future.

This is 2020 and 2020 is the year of the talent. Brady is the exception to the rule this year, but 2020 is the year of talent. Mahomes, Rodgers, and Wilson have more talent today than the QBs in the 2010s. In the 2010s only one elite QB had talent and that was Aaron Rodgers. Brady, and Brees had a little bit talent, but not all that much. Peyton Manning had no talent at all in the 2010s, but had a lot in his old stinky 2004 days. Yeah 2004 Manning could throw a football, but 2013 Manning threw 55 TDs without talent. 1990s QBs had a lot of talent just like today. Favre had talent, Marino had talent, Elway had talent, and Young had talent. Only Montana lacked talent somewhat, but he still had more talent than 2013 Manning and a little bit more than Brees. Each decade is a test to see if the dominant QBs have talent or not. Talent didn't matter much in the late 2000s, but these days the best QBs have talent. It is the 1990s all over again.

I don't think you have any idea what talent means 🤣.

Josh Allen has a huge chance to take this over, if they manage to play that game, right? Pat lost his first game, Wilson is losing now, and even if he comes back being shutout through a half definitely looks rough. Rodgers on a bye, so he won't fall back but can't step up either.

Rodgers is probably it this game goes the way it has. This always happens to Wilson. He had a few stinkers that allow someone else to grasp it

It's the worst when they're nationally televised games. People remember those a good bit longer, IMO. The rest they just know by statline.

If Seahawks win and Wilson finishes strong, he’s probably still the #1 with Rodgers on a bye.

Have to see what Allen can do on Tuesday as well.

This gonna be a weird and hard week... Wilson playing meh, on the verge of losing, Rodgers on a bye, Mahomes and Brady lost and both looked kind of average, man.

Doesn’t mean the list is gonna look much different, might look almost exactly the same, but gotta go over everything with a fine comb.
