TitanLegend
Whats gonna be hilarious is watching the NFL punish the Titans(which they undoubtedly deserve, don't take this as me saying they don't deserve punishment) after having the Patriots and Chiefs still play each other despite knowing what the incubation period of the virus is. Absolute top notch hilarity there.

No. What is going to be funny is when we start having cases because we were forced to play and the NFL makes us the new scapegoat

It s just not going to happen that way. They ll be fines and maybe loss of draft picks. but one team covering game checks for another team will never happen. No owner would have agreed to that rule for a season to start.
AZ_Eaglesfan
This is on the Titans. You wouldn't have positive tests TEN DAYS after your facility shut down if you adhere to the protocols that are in place. Yes, the NFL's plan for this is garbage. Yes, it is not the fault of the Titans that some of their coaches or players caught the virus, but the fact that the NFL told them to stop all team activities(and there is then evidence of them flat out ignoring said ruling) and the spread continued over a week later is clearly on them. This deserves a heavy punishment. Loss of significant draft picks and fines. The entire organization should be forced to sit through classes on why their actions were grossly negligent. The only reasonable thing the NFL can do here is delay the season by two weeks and pick up from where we left off. There is no way you can trust the Titans to play a football game this week, even if they could field a team, because they have shown that they flat out don't care about following the rules. I'm sure there are no rules against the league offering players free money either lol

Plus, this has all been collectively bargained by the league and NFLPA ahead of time. 2 hours ago, lancerman said: They didn’t agree to those terms and if the Bills got paid then the Titans can file a grievance because you already broke the standard. You can’t retroactively change the process on things that happened Evidently the NFLPA agreed that players wouldn't get game checks if a game was canceled or suspended. Not if the NFL forced a forfeiture. Thats another reason forfeiting it won't happen. It would lead to a legal fight the NFL very well might lose. Positive tests can appear anywhere from 5-14 days after contracting COVID. Around 90% show up after 5 days, but its not impossible that nothing spread after the initial event. That said, regardless of what actually happened, the NFL wants the Titans to have screwed something up so the NFL can claim all their protocols are working despite the obvious holes. Worst case for the NFL is that the Titans' actions didn't contribute to the spread of COVID because it would mean NFL protocol has gaps. However, in some cases, the incubation period was much longer. For 10% of people, the incubation period was longer than 2 weeks (14.28 days), and in 1% of cases, the estimated incubation period was more than 20 days. I thought a few weeks ago, the coaches were planning to file grievances over the amt of mask fines. Haven t read any thing add'l. As far as player fines. As far as player fines, some Raider players got fined up to 30k. That s a far cry from a game check. The NFLPA would step in with that type of fine. We re in uncharted territory, so anything is possible as far as a virus. Penalties to organizations have been doled out to the Pats for Spygate and other infractions. The Saints and Bounty gate come to mind
