Now we are in a situation where the NFL likely caused a serious exposure problem and we won’t know the full extent until this time next week

There's no point of even trying to commit to a season in a pandemic if you're shutting teams down for a positive test. Multiple teams have had a single positive test without issue. We're trying to avoid what happened with the Titans, and now we're seeing that just like the Marlins and Cardinals, the only reason it happened was because they didn't care to follow the protocol. You really think the NFL, without built in bye weeks or a bubble, is going to avoid having teams get hit by COVID despite following protocol? You're the only the 3rd team in sports (hockey, baseball, football, basketball, college athletics) with an outbreak. The other 2 teams were hanging out at strips clubs, casinos and golf courses instead of following protocol. We've already seen physical proof your team didn't follow protocol. I'm serious, no one feels sorry for the Titans. We all can feel pretty confident that while cases may pop up like they have with multiple teams across multiple leagues, you don't get outbreaks if you follow the protocols.

Again the problem is that we know there is an incubation period. This is beyond any scientific dispute. Once you get a positive test you are basically flying blind for over a week. Maybe it’s isolated.... but the truth is you are not preventing an outbreak by not shutting down. You are actively enabling one while covering your eyes and crossing your fingers. That puts the league at far more risk than just being safe.

There is no situation where an NFL season occurs in 2020-21, that isn't so spread out that it hurts the 21-22 season, where there isn't a risk taken by the players of testing positive. That's why there's been a no-risk opt out period allowed for all the leagues.

The instruction to gather was sent out the day after they gathered to practice. They were told about a positive before the Minny game, told to go play it, and then were told they would be playing the Steelers the following week. Should they have avoided practice all-together? Sure, common sense would dictate that, but they did not actually break protocol in doing so before it became a mandate. You are trying to retroactively punish a team for something that wasn't the rule when the 'rule breaking' occurred. Granted, that's in line with how inconsistent the NFL is with their punishments, but you would hope that most people would be able to read and understand reports, rather than see the sensationalistic "TITANS BREAK PROTOCOL" and ignore any follow-up story clarifying the point. This is the underlying problem with the NFL's (lack of) plan. Quote Incubation period The incubation period for COVID-19 is thought to extend to 14 days, with a median time of 4-5 days from exposure to symptoms onset.1-3 One study reported that 97.5% of persons with COVID-19 who develop symptoms will do so within 11.5 days of SARS-CoV-2 infection.3 https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/clinical-guidance-management-patients.html#:~:text=The incubation period for COVID,from exposure to symptoms onset.&text=One study reported that 97.5,SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Certainly the NFL has some unique challenges having such large rosters/support staffs that would make doing a bubble(s) difficult, but it really seems like the plan was just no one catch Covid and we’ll be fine. Lol Some sort of exceptionalism believing that their protocols were fool-proof and nobody would not follow them probably

Isn’t there proof that the Titans weren’t wearing or using their mask while inside the facility? The NFL showed the video or whatever of it during their meeting on Monday with all 32 teams.
