Leave others out of the equation at this point - what has to happen for Veldheer to be able to play on Saturday? He's already out for Saturday. The only real worry now is who was deemed a close contact to him, thus making their eligibility for Saturday in question. There was no other OL out of practice today besides Veldheer, so maybe that's an encouraging sign that nobody else was deemed high risk

What does this mean for the REST of the Packers OL with regards to contact tracing etc? JFC, they better not be forced to have most of their starting OL miss the game This is bad. Leader
Andy Herman - That’s... not great. He (Veldheer) will obviously miss this weeks game but would be eligible for the NFCCG if he was healthy and cleared testing in time.

deltarich87
So nothing to worry about YET, but ugh, the testing over the next couple days is gonna be worrisome
Leader
Peter Bukowski - Rob Demovsky is reporting the Packers are clear of contact tracing, so the NFL didn't deem any close contacts for Veldheer. But that's not to say no one else could test positive though.

deltarich87
Not only for the game on Saturday but now we gotta worry about any potential positive tests over the next week if GB pulls out the victory. This stinks

You gotta hope the staff kept him away from everybody else until he got a negative test. I'm presuming he had to get a negative test just to get into the building.....no? What’s important is if he infected others/ or if others are deemed close contacts. Then they can’t play. Hooray for protocols. Let no one take things for granted, in your personal lives nor in the locker room of your favorite football team. People concerned about him playing are missing the story. He is a plan C tackle. Edited January 13, 2021 by Refugee
deltarich87
Bright side is the Saints went through this a couple weeks ago with their RB room and then there were no more positive tests with the rest of the team and they came out OK. No close contacts is one big hurdle they avoided at least.
