Agree we need somebody there but not sure there aren't just as good/better CBs in free agency/getting cut that can man the same position for the same dollars. I'll add that physically he doesn't look right. Looks like he lost a step. Not sure if he was playing through injury and he'll get it back or it's permanent damage from a previous injury. Posters keep going back to his pre draft measurables. Well that was then and this is now. Looks more like a 4.7 guy not 4.4. No recovery speed probably why he was always playing off. He may be just washed dunno. It will be interesting to see if King finds a market in FA.

Not all of these players were on bad contracts, and there aren't enough cap-rich teams with roles for all these players. Jones moving on is the bittersweet departure for everyone, but it needs to happen. Why would Gute take AJ Dillon at all if he planned to retain Jones? Obviously he didn't know Jones would continue his production or not get hurt, but at this point you have to go with the rookie contract or Dillon is a pretty bad value pick. Depend on Williams price Jones and Dillon and cutting Lowry is better than Dillon and Williams

Zadarius Smith is from Greenville, Alabama. He attended college in Scooba, Mississippi and Lexington, Kentucky His only pro ball other than here was played was in Baltimore, Maryland. There's plenty of room for improvements here lol Sure... Plus he has a young family and he seems to really enjoy being a father. So I image living in a small town where his kids are safe, fresh air, can have a ton of yard space, etc likely is appealing too. My point in general is that Gb could easily get any FA on the market... all it takes is money or the ability to get notices to make money (ala winning). I mean even look at that special teams coach LaFleur wanted. He basically said he would come... they would just need to grossly overpay him to come, because he didn’t really want to live in GB, WI. But the fact is he still had a price...

Second contracts to RB's are a financial risk the Packers shouldn't take IMO. You invested a 2nd round asset into Dillon. That's a big investment for a 4 year only player and now you want to bring back someone to keep him on the bench ? I'm not understanding the value thought process. The last big time RB on a Super Bowl winning team was Marshawn Lynch 8 years ago. You can make a deal with Jones, but Jones is going to have to come off this notion that he's going to get a high guarantee deal. You look at the deals signed by guys like Dalvin Cook, Alvin Kamara, Joe Mixon, etc. that are his contract comps, they're not getting more than a third of their contract guaranteed. Alvin Kamar signed a 5 year, $75M deal with $15M signing bonus and $22.8M guaranteed. The guarantees outside of the signing bonus were his first two years' salaries which were a combined $7.5M. After those first two years of guarantees, the Saints can save $8M after the 2022 season or $11.8M after the 2023 season. His $25M cap hit in 2024 will never see the light of day. Dalvin Cook signed a 5 years, $63M deal with $15.5M signing bonus and $16.325M guaranteed. The only guarantees that Cook got were his signing bonus and his 2020 salary. Neither one of them got much in the way of future guarantees. If the reports of Jones being offered top 5 money were accurate, then this is Aaron Jones being greedy and trying to do something the RB market struggles to do which is to secure high guarantees. I'll go ahead and draft his replacement over Jones'. Are you ignoring the rest of the season, or do you always cherrypick to find a player's worst game when making an opinion? Yet the numbers that @squire12 posted a while back say otherwise. So either the stats are lying or you're not being truthful. I think majority of the posters who say King sucks are guilty of unrealistic expectations.

We aren't getting anything significant in terms of compensatory picks because the salary cap went in the toilet. Not because King **** the bed against Tampa Bay.
