If there is anyone in the world who should have a god complex and be a dbag, it is surgeons. In fact, I'd be worried if I went to one who didn't behave that way. Surgeon - "You will walk because I deem it so!" Me - "Oh **** yes, this is my guy." lol

Me - "Oh **** yes, this is my guy." lol I want a surgeon so delusional and confident that they think, given enough time and money, they could make a blind man see. Over a decade ago, I had a hernia that I went to get repaired. Apparently, the guy I went to is like the best hernia surgeon in the country. It wasn't even fully confirmed yet that I truly had a hernia (trainer said I did, primary care doctor said it was just an abdominal strain). Went to him and it took him literally 2 seconds of poking around to say "Yeah, you have a hernia. Probably 2. When I get in there, I'll fix the other one too". What do you know, I actually did have 2 (the second just wasn't fully 'emerged' yet), and he fixed it up before it was a problem or I even knew I had it. Every other career- c'mon, show some humility. Surgeon? Give me the biggest dbag on the planet lol.
minutemancl
I've only ever bought insurance online directly from a provider. Is it worth going through a reliable insurance agent? The price isn't higher because you go through someone, since they just get paid on commission right?

That's what my mom's cancer surgeon was like. "I've done over 10,000 Whipple surgeries in my life. I'm among the best there is." Yeah, give me this dude. Better than an agent.

minutemancl
I think we as humans need to embrace the beauty in liking things that are bad. Like, Miller Lite is not very good. Hot dogs are objectively bad for you and disgusting, when you really consider what they are. Lots of music is made by really bad people. Your favorite athlete is probably a bad person and an *******. Who cares? We'll still keep consuming that garbage. Embrace it!

Yeah, give me this dude. i had a shoulder surgery a couple of years ago and a couple of weeks before it the surgeon was explaining the procedure and seemed a bit bored and detached. so i asked him, "you've done this procedure hundreds of times already, i assume?" he looks at me and pauses and says, "thousands." Its better if you need to make a claim to be able to call the agent and already have that relationship developed vs being stuck on some national call in center.

I've been trying to solve my migraine issues for over a year now and I keep racking up specialist visits with no resolutions. Neurologist can't figure it out. Pulmonary doctors/sleep study had no results. So my GP has decided that it's the weather and I actually agree with him. So...moving to Alaska?
