In Wilson’s case it’s blatantly untrue and Watson has no leverage anymore Wilson isn't available this offseason - but that wasn't my post. Next offseason, SEA is in a world of hurt. After this year, SEA's key core guys of Brown, Adams & Diggs are all UFA's. And it's a flawed team even now. Even SEA insiders ackowledge that the window for a separation opens for 2022 - not this year. This year was a pipe dream, for both the roster construction above and the fact NYJ owns SEA's 2022 1st round pick. Once SEA enters 2022 with their 2023 draft picks - all bets are off, and this recognized by their beat reporters & national reporters. 2021 was blatantly untrue - and I've posted as much. 2022, though - entirely different story. Either way, though - it's not like we have any more inside track with Wilson. With more draft pick ammo, though, different story, and that applies to any top QB becoming available. That was the original point - for any QB that becomes available - the main reason why NYJ/MIA was pointed to as in the driver's seat with Watson for so long - they had the pick leverage. A trade back last night would have put us in the 2022 NYJ/MIA position they enjoyed this offseason.

But my guess is it wasn’t about compensation so much as optics. The story blew up too quickly and on the most important day of the league calendar. I really think the leaks from Denver’s side screwed then. It was a “popping champagne” vibe coming from all the Denver media guys (and I strongly believe Elway was the one putting this out) and I can imagine GB taking a deal off the table just out of pride. The way it all played out was just so embarrassing for them. And that’s precisely why Aaron did what he did when he did it. My reporter friend made a great point on Twitter yesterday saying “everything Rodgers does is highly strategic.”

BroncoBruin
Heard there may be some character stuff with Barmore. Otherwise, yeah, he's amazing value as the top defensive tackle in the class

Otherwise, yeah, he's amazing value as the top defensive tackle in the class I havent heard of any off field character stuff, mostly just motor issues. Lots of big nasties have motor issues coming out and correct them. I like the gamble on him, but in the end it seems we are not considering guys with blemishes.
Cutler06
So this pick really speaks volumes about what the Broncos are thinking about Callahan, haven't been able to count on him since he been here because of health issues. Guessing they'll ask him for a pay cut or try to trade him (if he has any trade value), bet they'll ask him to cut down to $1-2MM from his $6.6MM

He would be a terrible safety cuz he's a terrible tackler. Can you imagine Tyreek Hill one on one with him as the last line of defense? I'm not a fan of this safety class (I know some are) so I'd mostly sit this one out until the later rounds and look for a Jackson replacement next year. Kyle Hamilton next year would be a game changer. Edited April 30, 2021 by grizmo78

Trevon Moehrig would be good value at 2.40. Richie Grant would be fine, as well. After that, Hamsah Nasirildeen in the 4th would be a nice fit.
ClockWorkOrange
I got two questions going into tonight and I want your help with the answers... In last night's Presser, Paton said he has 8 guys on his board for the second round and we have the 8th pick... So those are some good odds at getting one of those guys:). I am curious who do you all think those 8 guys are that he has on his board? The second question I can't stop thinking about is that Paton said they were thinking of trading back into the 1st to pick up a player, but that player would have needed to drop into the 20s for it to be a reasonable cost to move up... Who do you think Paton was wanting to trade up for? I think it was Davis who dropped to 19. Please help me figure this out as I truly want to know... and I doubt he will every tell us the answer... Big thanks:)

Moving him to backup safety would alleviate using a draft pick, he's has good size for the position, has coverage/ball-hawk skills. And Surtain is the guy who should be covering Tyreke, not a safety. It does make a lot of senc=se to me. And if you still want to get Hamilton next year, OJ can stay a backup, he could certainly be moved back to CB next year if Callahan is shown the door.
