Exactly. The majority of the best backs in the nfl are 1st and 2nd rounders. Not 4th-7th rounders

Right.

What they do for offenses are underrated. We've watched how much they can help Qbs with people like Wentz & Tannehill. All of the top-10 rushing offenses are either in the playoffs or were in the wildcard hunt until recently (Browns). Just a couple of reasons why I'm loving how our rushing attack has stepped up since starting LDT at RG & getting Carter back.

Just now realizing that the Pats & Bills are the top-2 scoring defenses in the NFL. They are also in the top-10 in scoring offenses. That along with Miami having the most cap space in the league this offseason. Building a division contender is going to be tough.

The Jets are about to go 2 entire seasons without a division win

So both S. Lawson and Curry were released. Not surprising but curious timing. Does anyone know why they would release them now?

Jets have no use for them anyway.  As a worst team, it sometimes they open spots for kids to evaluate on real game.

Edit: In that case, Money is already paid off so there is no reason why they stick around for the final week.

Little Lafleur appreciation post..

Offensive personnel weeks 1-5: *(league ranking)

  • 11 - 59% (19th)
  • 12 - 36% (3rd)
  • 10 - 0% (32nd)

Since:

  • 11 - 62% (16th)
  • 12 - 14% (27th)
  • 10 - 12% (1st)

The biggest knock on Gase was his stubbornness, he simply refused to deviate from his 'system' even if it meant trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. For Lafleur to have completely redesigned the offense since the bye, as a first time play caller... that's damn impressive.

Maybe because of injuries and covid. Jets don't have options deeper than 11.

80% of the league uses 11 at least 55% of the time, so it's not like the Jets have been overly reliant there.
