Good think Jon Gruden doesn't have a vote.

"It's hard to argue with that guy up in New England," said Jon Gruden of Tom Brady, "but what he did as a second-year player, I would vote for Carson Wentz. He did it as a runner, he did it as a passer, his audibles, his command at the line of scrimmage, his leadership.

You contradict yourself in a span of two sentences. If the Rams are 0-4 when Gurley gets less than 17 carries, how did they win one when he got 11?

They're actually 2-4 in that situation. Not 0-4.

He sat the entire 2nd half. I should have put an asterisk next to that one. And didn't realize he as 17 vs Saints in a W. Regardless, Gurley gets the ball they win. When he doesn't, they lose. This is probably the only knock Rams fans would have on McVay in a spectacular year is that he got too pass happy at times. Even McVay admitted it he did and since he admitted that Gurley has gone ham sandwich and cemented his status as a top MVP candidate.

Sadly I know they're going to give it to Brady, but it's just proof what a joke the award has become. You can have a slightly above average season as a QB (not even  be the best QB) and you can win vs a RB having a wayyy above average season (potentially record setting if he didn't sit week 17 because he would be first RB to lead all RBs in both rushing and receiving in the same year).

Meanwhile, the gap between Todd Gurley and literally any other FLEX player is massive. While Tom Brady and Alex Smith are tied statistically, Gurley has no counterpart due to his remarkable ability to rush and receive. Ranked in order of yards:

Todd Gurley: 343 touches, 2,093 yards, 19 TDs, 139.5 YDS/G, 6.10 YDS/Touch
Le'Veon Bell: 406 touches, 1,946 yards, 11 TDs, 129.8 YDS/G, 4.79 YDS/Touch
Kareem Hunt: 324 touches, 1,747 yards, 10 TDs, 116.4 YDS/G, 5.39 YDS/touch

The gap between Todd Gurley and Le'Veon Bell, both in MVP consideration, is significantly larger than Brady and Smith, even though Smith isn't a pro bowler.

This is exactly why he won't win it. RB have to completely Dominate , have a record setting type year to take it away from a QB. This award has become a Glorified QB award. So Gurley isn't winning.

Outside of TD ( which everyone is quick to point out about Wentz), he's barely out produced the two listed above. If you point out the overall "touches" for Bell (63 more) then you also have to apply the (19 less) for Hunt. A ROOKIE!!!

A Rookie RB putting up similar numbers doesn't help His or Your case, sorry. That's why he won't win. Especially after Brady comes out and throws another 3-4 TD this weekend.

It's Brady's Regardless

So now Wentz is a better passer, leader, and audible/LOS caller than Brady?

Ooook.

Gruden doesn't say Wentz is better at those abilities, he just mentions how he would vote for Wentz because of how he did those things.

I love how Brady winning MVP is a joke now....as if he's not even worthy of the award lol

Apparently Tom Brady has only played slightly above average....

Interesting.

Well let's be real. Anything not Ram related is considered Average in their eyes!

His stats are almost identical to Alex Smith this year. People just drop to their knees cause its Tom Brady.

Oh and Bell/Hunt are sitting tomorrow so Gurley will lead the league in rushing and receiving for a RB. Which has never been done before, which now "officially" makes him have a shot at MVP since you have to set a record in the NFL as a RB just to be the most valuable player to your team. Again...such a joke.
