When he gets booed out of stadium next week will probably be last time he starts Dalton. Unless Dalton plays best game of his life next week he is toast. Poor Dalton will get boos. But they are really for Nagy and his stupid 'plan' for Fields to get better by watching Dalton play in both practice and games.

What you asserted is opinion Ehh, not sure why you'd say that. The Bears fell apart in the second half. Putrid play all around. Defense being the most egregious of the the three phases. They best get their act together, or this is going to be one ridiculous season.

Epyon
So let's get proactive.... The elephant in the room is just how bad the secondary is, not counting J Johnson..... Obviously financially we aren't doing squat about E. Jax. either, but that leaves 3 gaping holes to try scramble to find solutions for, most obviously #2CB and NCB (I'm actually unsure how well or not the SS was playing.... or honestly who is even in that role right now.... Deon Bush?) Who is available that we could bring in to try and turn that situation around, because, if we can't fix the secondary fast, we might as well pack it up entirely on the season and fire sale some of the vets that can net a return.

"Let's stop making blanketed statements." Then follows with a blanket statement. While I know it is written the JAF Bible that rookies cannot play early and reps are meaningless - it isn't hard to argue that Lawrence, Wilson and Jones did better than Dalton. Players aren't going to get better simply because they follow a mediocre player around, and if we are really banking on Nagy to develop Fields then we are screwed. The guy helped Tru regress and has never had success at QB that wasn't directly the result of Reid and a star laden offense. Nagy is Mike McCarthy without the offensive production behind his name and without postseason success. While there is merit to saying he needs to develop more, it isn't mutually exclusive to either sitting or starting early. Acting like there is a set manner either way that QBs have to be developed is baseless and kind of a pompous notion. There has been success both with early and delayed starting, and there has been failures both ways as well. In the end the talent of the QB should come through with even competent coaching and average talent. If one wants to argue we lack one of those then I don't have a major argument with that either. Our HC did just lead us to 14 points with a QB that had full control of the offense, mind you.

Gipson is supposed to be the SS but they way the Bears use them half time time EJax seems to be playing forward with Gipson playing centerfield when IMHO it should be reversed. The backups are SS/DH-C and FS/Deon Bush. But from past experience we know that Gipson and EJax are both capable of playing much better so that can probably be straightened out. What can't be is that Marqui Christian cannot play Slot CB and Kindle Vildor is nowhere near ready to be an NFL starter. Whose available is the problem. The Broncos would like to trade Bryce Callhan who was a very good Slot CB in Chicago when you could keep him on the field. Denver has had the same issues. He missed the entire 2019 season and 6 games in 2020. But we're not about to pick up his $6.5 mil salary. You want Kyle Fuller back. He'd cost $9.5 mil on top of the $9 mil in dead cap we already had to eat when we released him so we could sign Dalton. We kept Jimmy Graham and had to restructure his deal with void year to save 2021 cap but we couldn't find some way to do that with Fuller because someone thought Vildor could take his place? Smooth moves Jewell. I really don't know who we could find when all we have is $2.8 mil in cap. Pace screwed up.
