The Cowboys/Lions made an investment into their franchise by volunteering for the Thanksgiving game. It was undesirable. Now its paying off and you want to take it from them? Does your family have a business? Is it successful? Can I just go steal money out of their pockets because I like a competitor even more? No? You dont want me stealing money from mom and dads pockets after they got successful? Maybe we should petition to take the name "Apple" away from Apple, since I prefer pears. omg.. so dramatic of a response lol

Matts: Cowboys/Lions heroically and selflessly volunteered for an undesirable game that they would be stuck with for life Also Matts: It's very profitable and favorable to is so don't try to take it away

notthatbluestuff
Home teams are winless on Thanksgiving for the third straight year. But it's very important for the Lions and Cowboys to host every year because it's traditional. Isn't that right, guys?
Forge
Honestly, just doesn't matter to me who plays on Thanksgiving. It doesn't really impact me to have it continue to be the lions and cowboys. Football is football and I still watched all three of the games
Dr A W Niloc
Actually, at the time the schedules were drawn up this seemed like one of the best Thanksgiving Day slates: two then-mediocre teams in Chicago-Detroit (which did, in fact, end up 16-14); two volatile ones in Raiders-Cowboys (decided by a field goal in OT but leaving us wondering if REF is an acronym for "Randomly Emitting Flags" like Pez dispensers); and, two contenders, Buffalo-New Orleans, which was a rout because the home team's starting QB, RB1, RB2, WR1, RT and DE couldn't participate. Who knew you can't win NFL games without NFL players?

It will never be taken away from them. Don't like the game, don't watch it. But Millions still do even though they complain. It generates TONS of money for the league and the Ford family. Forge
38.5 million for cowboys and raiders. Highest rating since 1990. That's why the cowboys are going to get Thanksgiving lol
KingOfNewYork
They just need to get the late game right. Pre-dinner watching the Lions stumble around the field is a good appetizer. Main course watching the Cowboys blow it is enjoyable. Watching the Cowboys win and all their fans boast about it is also enjoyable. Dessert needs to be amazing though, marquee names or teams. Rams/Packers would have been great.

I honestly can’t remember the last good NBC game on Thanksgiving.
THE DUKE
I'll take 2/3 close games a year and call that a win. Only the Bills/Saints game wasn't interesting if you love football.
