The parking garage was very convenient for sleeping off a drunk when I was visiting on weekends during my 20s to bet USFL. One time I awoke too early on Saturday before sunrise and decided to drive to Stardust, which was the only sportsbook open all night. Not a good idea. I mistakenly put the car in drive instead of reverse. I shot forward and my front wheels went over the parking barrier. Fortunately I realized what was going on before slamming into the wall overlooking Flamingo Boulevard. A few of us tried to lift it out. No luck. I had to call a tow truck to free me. Only 50 bucks in those days. Plus tip. I knew I should tip in that town. The solution was to be extra on my favorite USFL wager. That worked. Fully recouped. G Posted January 3, 2022 Share Posted January 3, 2022 I'm happy he seemed to know he shouldn't be driving and tried to sleep it off. Been there done that and put my keys outside my car in the wheel well. Security said nah you have to go. We had a debate about the stupidity of that and I just said tow my car then and walked away and found a gas station to call a friend at 3am. Didn't even know where I was but luckily he was able to figure it out. With the Ruggs incident you would think it wouldn't happen for a few years but it seems that Hobbs didn't push his luck. As a 5th round pick who was a total steal, I don't think this hurts his future at all. When it's time to get paid, I think he will have all this squared away and behind him. Don't think he will miss playing time this season but next season 2-4 games depending how this plays out.
