ACO
All that said, I look forward to seeing Kirk as WR1. I do think he has a lot of talent.

Uncle Buck
As long as it doesn't become a habit, I don't mind overpaying for a receiving target in this situation. A far bigger mistake would have been to go into Trevor's second season with no one for him to throw to.

Like, the Chiefs won a superbowl, and fans still gripe about how much we've paid Frank Clark and Sammy Watkins over the past few years. The price always still matters. It's entirely possible to be excited about the contribution and still understand it came in under the cost.
minutemancl
Every time a bad team way overpays for an average player in free agency, we have this exact thread. Everyone saying it was a bad signing and fans of the team defending it with the usual tropes ("We have money, it doesn't matter", "We just need talent", "We can't waste (young good player)'s prime/rookie contract years"). Then in 2 years the player is cut for not coming close to living up to the lofty expectations that come along with an albatross contract.
Adrenaline_Flux
not even the worst Kirk contract in the league

And in that case, what harm is done in the end besides a player getting a bag (which is good)?

RuskieTitan
8 minutes ago, KhanYouDigIt said: pretty much Going off game log breakdowns of longest receptions being 50+ for a game (possiblity of multiple 50+ within the same game... but unlikely): 2018: 2 2019: 1 2020: 2 (Came close with a third game featuring a 49 yarder) 2021: 1 (Exactly at 50; another at 47) So for something that he does maybe 2 times a year, I sort of think people are going to still talk about what the Jags spent over the market price. In fact, spending $10 million per 50 yard reception seems a bit steep.
