I dont know on this one. Sure they have before, and at times to the benefit of films as well as the detriment (more often lately). But all we have heard about Joker is that its not connected at all to the stuff that the studio has been known to meddle with before, and that this was All Phoenix & Phillips. If they decide to make this baffling choice, thats on them.

He was trying to make it different than the MCU which is what we as fans needed. We dont need 2 same universes. We needed a light universe (MCU) and one dark universe (DCEU). But the exec's panicked because of the pre showings and changed it all. They expected to fully jump right in without having anything set up. But I've said this many times before. The execs screwed themselves. Snyder sucks

Hide contents https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/joker-reportedly-controversial-batman-twist/ Joker is Batman's half-brother. Wow, I'm almost at a loss for words of how stupid this is. Why on earth did WB think this was a good idea? This is right up there with Sony wanting to make an Aunt May movie and Fox wanting to turn Dr. Doom into an internet hacker named Victor Domashev (which they thankfully ditched, but they still royally f'ed him up, anyway) in terms of epic fail. In that case, thank God it's not connected to the DCEU. This article links to their own article from 7 months ago on the same subject...Which cites a random Instagram post, which has been deleted. There are no legitimate sources at all.
AlexGreen#20
Still not entirely sure what the point of a joker movie without Batman or other supers is. Phoenix being able to be Jokery on camera will probably be fun, but at the same time, what else does the movie have to offer? It's being advertised like he's some sort of anti-hero. seminoles1
Snyder didn't sign up to create a universe. He signed up for a 5 movie Superman story.

Regardless of whether the rumor is true, the entire DC lineup has been poorly planned and even more poorly executed...and it's on WB. They never had a real plan in place, nor anyone who cares about these characters.

Snyder crammed in his death in a team up movie. Basically ruined his alter ego, killed a supporting character in Jimmy Olson and made Superman totally wreckless and gloomy. WB meddled when they realized JL wasnt gonna redeem anything.

There is a whole lot of blame to go around in this thing, but anyone who is under the illusion that Snyder had some amazing plan laid out and was actually following is playing revisionist history, and just trying to absolve him at this point. THE DUKE
I'd love for the supposedly awesome "Snyder Cut" to one day get released and be the big steaming turd that I expect it would be.

Its WBs fault for even allowing Snyder to make JL after BvS. Maybe then, JL could have redeemed something.

Let's not kid ourselves, we both liked BvS when it first came out. It felt like it was good, and it was only after thinking about it did it turn out to be crap.

I Still say, visually and pacing it feels the most like a comic book on the screen of any Superhero movie. Felt like splash pages, and cutting from one moment to the next like we were jumping from one panel to another, but that just doesnt work as an entire Film. Plus you add all the other problems on top of that , and its just not worth defending the few merits it has anymore.
