I agree Chris Rock easily has the mind/wit to go after him, but in that moment it would likely have made the situation even more awkward. He handled it perfectly. Jada is also a Black woman who also has to deal with a lot of the racial bias that comes towards her and her hair. So no, I don’t think she’s a sensitive witch. She was right to be upset at what seemed like an innocent joke to the casual viewer. She shaved her head. She made that decision. Alopecia does not cause that haircut. That was an active, conscious decision to shave her head in that particular style. She has alopecia aratrea. It’s treatable. Especially with her money. I have every right to call her sensitive when I’ve taken the jokes for 17 years. She’s sensitive. It has nothing to do with race. But no, it seemed to have the opposite effect unfortunately. And it’s not exclusively about her. It’s about the racial bias that happen to Black women and their hair.
