I don't think it takes far longer to get to the LOS, I still think you can build momentum after getting the ball and going towards the LOS, I don't think the ability for a DE to see the run coming is that much easier. There's this idea you're back there just standing still as you get the ball with DL already on you and I don't really think it's the case, but when it happens it's like that was the entire reason the play didn't work, even though it probably happens with the same play by the DL out of single back stuff. It feels like an idea born from traditional football strategy that never got adjusted to the fact that it's not this huge disadvantage that it felt like we were told growing up.
