Why did you get into the NFL ?

For me it was actually watching the sport. 9-8 gives you a realistic chance of the playoffs in the NFC and if you make the playoffs then you have a chance. For me, when we lose our 9th game, the season is done and fine tank if you want until then its live and we need to be game planning like its the super bowl.

Watching a game you don't really want us to win (or know its better to lose) is a pretty wretched experience.  The next season starts September. That's a very long time away. I'm not going to going to give up on the season till I absolutely have to. Not because I think this team will do anything this year but because I am into the NFL to watch games like sunday night and every win keeps the season alive a week longer.

Just great to see for once this season, the team showed a bit of backbone v Dallas and came through after a difficult start. Nice contrast to the cry baby entitled fans who give up on the season after a 3-6 start.

So yeah if we lose to Titans, feel free to hope we tank the rest of the way if you want.

We’re 2 losses away from asking Aaron Rodgers if he’s coming back next year or not. Not 1. We can make it with 7 losses 1/4 of the time.

I still think there is room for a WR at some point even if we retain Lazard, and Watson and Doubs are what we hope they are.  I like Toure too, but he has shown the least before.  I believe that Cobb and Watkins are gone after this season.

DL will need a little help too, most likely.  Lowry and Reed are probably gone, which leaves Slayon and Wyatt to team with Clark.  Getting more talent here probably helps, I think that starting 3 is pretty good though.  And we have Ford, who was better than I thought he would be in preseason but needs work before he is in games that count.

RB is a need, especially if Jones is a cap cut.

S is a big one, again.  Only Savage is under contract next season, as far as I can tell.

I also think the only TE that is under contract is Deguara.  That will also need to be addressed in some way.  I love Marcedes Lewis, but how long can we pay him 4 million for 7 catches and some blocking? If we really need that extra blocker put in an actual tackle that makes 400k.

Completely agree with all this. Even some of the further off the normal draft things are going to be looked at. Kicker? Return specialist? Possible Jordan Love competition or backup?

A lot will depend on Aaron Rodgers, a far as what we bring in for QBs.

We also need a kicker.  Do you draft one or not? Crosby has been good, and he was a draft pick.  But I believe Longwell was not, so there is not straight forward route for a kicker.

I'd say only draft a kicker when one comes around with a dang impressive resume. How impressive? Visible track record of 50+ FGs and some game winners, cold weather experience a definite plus. Otherwise, we already have Ahmed on the roster, so pick up a few more competitors from wherever for a competition.

Also, you're right about Longwell. He was undrafted, and he even replaced an actual drafted kicker in Brett Conway, who stunk up the joint with a missed game winner against Philly and I think missed several more in just a couple of games? This was back in '97.

Nah, we’ll beat Philly next week because the NFL is random.

Lol no we won’t.

Even if we do, this is a tank for the Packers.

Missing the playoffs gives us the 18th overall pick or better.

That’s significantly high for the Packer franchise, so it’ll help.

The worst thing that can happen for the future of this team is for the Packers to somehow sneak into the playoffs.

Aaron doesn’t have it in his mind to win this year.

Root for Browns, Lions, Steelers, Broncos, Rams, Bears, Jaguars, Saints and Panthers.

Root for the Raiders to lose so they draft a new QB, Davante gets released after next season, comes back and helps Jordan Love’s backup win the Super Bowl.

12rh overall? Hopefully get another Gary type player or better.

You have to suck every once in awhile to stay good in the NFL, unless you’re the pats with bill and Brady.

Fire Barry and replenish the roster the season. You had a few promising looking players from 2022. Need a few more draft picks and a free agent or two for 2023 and they’ll be back on track.
