They'll resign Jenkins.  Look at their current OL.  Bak is undependable based on his health.  Jenkins hasn't played well but offers some stability to the OL.  I'm not a huge fan of giving him a big contract. I think he's going to make the Packers OL even worse if he's not there.  I'll be surprised if he's not signed.

Next year will be his bounce back year, but I think he needs to stay at guard.

I'm thinking all the movement was a joke given the mess our O-line has been. If not,

😬

That was an unmitigated disaster when he was a RT earlier in the year. I'm OK with giving Walker a go at RT over Jenkins.

I'd be ok with Mason Crosby at RT over Jenkins.

Bak is out with a knee appendix removal. Guess this shuts him down for the year.

Who plays LT? I would expect Tom is next up whether it's LT or RT and Nijman is LT. Interesting option would be Caleb Jones, but I don't see him getting a chance.

Let's use the balance of the season to figure out if our LT of the future is on the roster. It ain't E. Jenkins IMO. Don't need another big contract on the offensive line. Especially given knee injury from last year. He doesn't appear to be the same guy.

An appendectomy will shut down a player for a year?

Nonsense.   They saw enough in practice and Rodgers little game experience in Dallas to show Favre the door with seeing VERY LITTLE of Rodgers in games.

It would be great to see Love get some experience in games, but these coaches know full well what he can do.  Winning is the priority, seeing Jordan Love play isnt at this point.   Love will get his shot in the coming months, its more about getting him some experience than a tryout.   Jordan Love is here next year regardless.

This.

Stats say if we win-out we have about 40% chance.  Therefore, you put the QB in that gives you the best chance of winning.

I think that is still Rodgers but given his various injuries and the way Love played, it is far from obvious. But up to MLF to decide that - it should be the only factor. One more loss and Love needs to start. Until then the absolute priority is winning.

Either way I'll be rooting for whoever is at QB to perform.

Not going to lie though - whilst the head says we need to move on at QB, the idea of Rodgers hanging around for another year is getting more appealing due to the vision of Old Guy throwing his toys out of the pram in his Mum's basement or wherever he resides.

We've got 5 games left in the season. It's a 4–6-week recovery. We will be mathematically eliminated by his return. Why bother?

I tend to agree with this unless somehow we manage to win the next 4 games and have a chance at a playoff stop in the last game. During this time I would check out his knee thoroughly again and see how that knee is doing.  We should have specialists looking at the knee to determine if there anything else that can be done this offseason to help in getting Bak on the field more consistently next year with much less swelling next year.  Do it now instead of next June.  We paid a lot to resign him two years ago and I'd really like to get a year to two more out of him at a high level. Last thing I want to see is him getting another procedure in June July and then sitting out again all training camp.  Maybe there will always be some swelling, but it would be great if we could implement a program this offseason to minimize that swelling come next year and keep him on the field more.

Out of curiosity I Googled it and these days the recovery period, if he had laparoscopic surgery, is 1-3 weeks but of course it would take longer for a person playing pro football.

I'd think it would take less time due to his overall health, but then there's a gap between "recovered enough to go back to data entry job" and "recovered enough to play in the NFL on Sunday"

I had laproscopic surgery about 6 yrs ago, and they were like "yeah, you can be back to work in 3-4 wks" and then I told them what I did for a living and they went "let's make it 2 mos."

I had one about 3 years ago and it does take 3-5 weeks to get back to anything near normal.  Especially things like lifting.  Maybe for someone like Bak it would take 4 weeks, but you really do not want to get hit in that area of the abdomen for awhile.
