Maybe. Seems like a lot of the ST aces are technically on defense, so it’s a bit deceptive. Really not sure what they are gonna do at safety, I think either Moore or Owens will be gone, but I think AJJ has shown enough and Gute loves his picks. 23/27 is totally OK, not the least bit crazy. Don’t know if they’ll keep Ballentine on the 53 but he would be the obvious scratch once Stokes is back. I don’t know if we need Gaines and Leavitt or if they out played Moore and Owens but they are clear ST guys so I won’t be surprised if it shakes out that way. Old Guy
Cox vs. Enagbare! No, I'm not advocating for keeping Cox over Enagbare, I'm not that dumb! I don't remember Enagbare having much impact last preseason in the pass rush department. Am I wrong about that? Look at what a year has done for him. Cox has shown a lot of potential as a pass rusher, imagine where he might be with a year of learning. I'll be very disappointed if we cut him. Unless he winds up on our practice squad. Then it will just be my annual overreaction to my rookie camp crush.
Mr. Fussnputz
Hum, nobody seems to have Newman on their 53. Don't jinx it. Somebody put Newman on their 53, please, just make sure he is waived.

It would sure seem like he's on the outside looking in, but Nijman's apparent movement down the depth chart has led to some speculation. It is not a done deal for Newman yet. HighCalebR
As far as Cox goes, he's for sure showed a bit of juice. I just don't see premium athlete who's a must have guy.. I could see him getting the 53 but healthy scratch all year, while we bring guys up off the PS to run ST. A step better than some of the end of roster OLBs we've had, but the rooms in a very solid spot already. Like probably be able to stash Tariq but he's an ST dream body. Brat&Beer
The toughest call was Cox/Carpenter/Wilson. I think 2 out of 3 make it. I went with Cox and Carpenter. However if the Mad Italian gets his way, it will probably be Carpenter and Wilson.

R T
It feels like a year where the Packers have a lot of players at the backend of the 53 they can play around with, with little risk of being claimed. I'm expecting that a few will make the first 53 only to be moved to the IR the following day. Moore, Tenuta and Wicks all fit this possibility. We might see 7 WR's on that first 53 only to see Wicks moved to the IR. Easily could see 2 RBs to start and a third add a couple of days later. Same with the Safety group, would not be surprising to see only 4 to begin on the first 53. Don't believe there is much danger of any of the Safeties being claimed. Also, could see a bigger number of OL then most are projecting.

Give me Jones over Newman, and I think this is where I am at as well. I think it is possible that someone is ahead of Owens, but he does seem to get more first or second string reps than the rest of the group after Savage and Ford. If everyone stays healthy, Owens is the guy that I drop when Stokes comes off PUP.
Packerraymond
Here's my 53: Trade: Nijman to SF for a 4th round pick and TE Ross Dwelley. Depth Chart: QB: Love-Clifford RB: Jones-Dillon-Taylor FB: Deguara WR: Watson-Doubs-Reed-Heath-Toure-Wicks TE: Musgrave-Dwelley-Kraft OL: Bahk-Jenkins-Myers-JRJ-Tom-Walker-Rhyan-Jones-Newman DL: Clark-Slaton-Wyatt-Wooden-Brooks EDGE: Gary-Smith-Van Ness-Enagbare-Hollins-Cox ILB: Campbell-Walker-McDuffie-Wilson-Carpenter CB: Alexander-Douglas-Nixon-Valentine-Ballentine S: Savage-Ford-Moore-Johnson Jr-Leavitt ST: Carson-O'Donnell-Orzech PUP: Stokes IR: Tenuta PS: McGough, Goodson, Wilson, DuBose, Melton, Allen, Telford, Empty, Ford, Phillips, Banks, Thomas, Sapp, Owens, Whelan Before week 1: Moore to IR, Owens to active roster. (Moore will probably miss some time judging by the tape of that injury, we hold him on the 53 and he goes to IR so we can activate him week 5.
